Accepting IBS
After 7 years of denial, I finally accept that I have IBS-D. My stomach isn't needy, dramatic, I have an intestinal condition that causes me extreme pain and bad diarrhoea sometimes for weeks! I am so glad I found this forum, I do not feel so "alone" in this anymore. I wanted so desperately to be healthy

Hi, I’ve been given some mebeverine from the doctors for IBS, can anyone help me if this will help with constipation and going the toilet more regularly? Can anyone share personal experiences , that would be appreciated😊

Early stages of diagnosis
Hi all, I’ve not posted before but I would love to hear comments as I’ve seen some of the great posts everyone has made on here. I am feeling pretty rubbish and it’s the first day I’ve had to take off work for it. Current problem: Over the last couple of weeks, I’m so tired and can only describe this

I regret not carrying on with appointment to see a gastroenterologist
Last 2018, I was referred to see a gastroenterologist, under the NHS I would have to wait 12 months. 12 months past, the first one was cancelled due to error in booking on their behalf, the second was cancelled due to the doctor being ill. And I cancelled the third one because for one year since I saw

8 months waiting to not be given a diagnosis...?
Hi there. I wrote on here a few months ago now... I had a battle with my GP and finally got referred to a gastroenterologist who sent me for a colonoscopy, MRI scan and calprotectin stool test... I initially thought I had IBS, but wondered if I could possibly have Crohn's disease... I fought so hard

Help please - terrified and alone
Hi, I suffered from IBS when I was younger really badly. Then it kinda went and only popped up occasionally. Now, I had a reflux episode that led to a barium swallow. Since then I have been really unwell. loose stools, constipation, abdominal pain etc. Doctor checked me out and prescribed mebeverine

I'm really struggling with gas, bloating, nausea, constipation and diarrhoea and I'm 14 weeks pregnant. The pain is ruining any sleep...
I'm going to see the perinatal mental health team tomorrow as I have a lot going on. I haven't officially been diagnosed with ibs but I am sure I have it and have had it for a long time. I was managing OK on a ppi and lots of buscopan and some laxitives before the pregnancy. Now I am suffering everyday

5 month waiting time to see specialist. Absolutely cannot wait that long.
For about 5 months now I've been having mild gastrointestinal issues (indigestion, feeling full quicker than normal, mild bloating, loose stools but not diarrhoea) which I am convinced was caused by stress and anxiety. About a month and a half ago, these symptoms rapidly worsened. I started getting horrible

FODMAP Diet
My doctor recommended me the low FODMAP diet after IBS treatment with mebeverine and lansoprazole only partially helped. I'm not keen on changing my diet. I don't have the time to prepare meals 100% from scratch and I don't want to spend all my time making sure that all I buy is low FODMAP stuff, like
