FLAIR Trial - ErnieUK Dehydration in Round 4 FCR (and home made soup)
Well I’m glad to report I’m finally into the R&R stage now of round 4, and Spring seems to have finally arrived just in time for Easter. As always please correct me on any errors/omissions and please share your own experiences. So how did round 4 go? Well, similar problems to round three to start with

Ibs flare ups
is it normal to have a flare up of 2 days? I am now trying lactose free milk to remove all allergens from my diet as normal milk doesn't help. It started up at 10:30amyesterday and hopefully by this afternoon it will be better as I am going out to see my sister for dinner. Chilling this morning in bed

Diagnosis
It has been confirmed as IBS now so I can think about getting back to normal again. I have been prescribed mebeverine for the stomach pain and cramps. I have noticed a difference in that it hasn't been as bad and controls the stomach cramps a bit better. This morning I still woke up with stomach pain

Fybrogel taken while talking morphine, or any painkillers which cause constipation ?
This Fibrogel was prescribed. Info from a recent pack. I have a pack of orange Fibrogel which says 'Do not take if you are taking any meds which cause constipation, ie Codeine, Morphine.' which I do. The online leaflet says the same. Packs I have with added Mebeverine do not say this. The pharmacist

Do you need omeprazole when you have an hiatus hernia?
Hello all, This is a long winded post but i need to tell you it all so you get an understanding. I started with IBS problems around 5 years ago after a severe bout of food poisoning. At first it was IBSD and then gradually became IBSA. Before getting an 'official' diagnosis i had numerous blood tests

Bowel stuck to left ovary
Hi, I had my first laparoscopy 5 weeks ago after suffering with lower abdominal and back pain for a good few months. GP originally thought it was urological issues so I had a cystoscopy which came back clear. After my first appointment with the gynaecologist he prescribed me mebeverine and passed it

Gastro problems
Does anyone else have problems with their digestive tract when a flare up begins? I describe it as if I can feel my whole body shutting down. (And I can actually feel it happen). Immediately I start having problems such as huge swollen tummy when eating (I'm normally a size 12 and my waist goes to

Have to wait 8 weeks for scan :(
I went for my appointment with the gyn on the 7th, thinking I would be having the ultrasound at same time, only to be told it was just an initial chat. She did a quick exam and asked a few questions and told me to buy some fybogel mebeverine for IBS and go back in 8 week for scan and to see her again

Diagnosis of IBS
Hi everyone. Can I ask what sort of diagnostic tests you have had and what sort of referrals I should ask my GP for? My symptoms started about 5 years ago after a meal out. I had really bad diarrhoea for the following 48 hours that then recurred every few days for about 12 weeks. I put it down to a bad

Confused!!
As yet I have not been diagnosed with endo but have so many of the symptoms on here that I am convinced that it is. However, I went to see the Consultant last week to be told that he didn't think it was endo he thought it was ibs! He came to this conclusion as he did an examination internal and external

Dicycloverine Hydrochloride tablets for IBS C - has anyone had any success with this medication?
I have been having a flare up of IBS. Mebeverine and Peppermint Capsules no longer seem to work for me so my GP has given me Dicycloverine 20mg. The main feature of my IBS is sluggish bowels and abdominal distension. It seems all the air in my colon stops things moving along. Just wondering if anyone

Sigmoidoscopy next week
I was diagnosed with ibs a few years ago but recently have had excruciating pain in the lower left side of my abdomen spreading up towards the middle. I have seen a gastro consultant and they think ibs may have been misdiagnosed, I have a sigmoidoscopy booked for Monday to have a look inside my colon
