A Pain in the Butt
For a whole year after my prostatectomy I felt like I had a "charley horse" in my right butt cheek. I complained about it to my medical oncologist and he had a radiation oncologist zap my sacrum with 800gys of IMRT. About two weeks later the pain was gone! Now, many years later, I'm feeling a similar

Overhead my onco being reprimanded last week. I am sure it was about me. Very long, venting. Feel free NOT to read.
I was finally referred to a palliative team which also consisted of a pain specialist for my severe back pain which makes it almost impossible to walk a full block without crying and having to stop and lean against something. I do not drive so I have no choice but to walk. It go so bad that I basically

Rectal problems following HDR and IMRT
Finished HDR and IMRT a couple months ago. Since then have had difficulty with bowel movements. GI doc not much help. Colonoscopy a risk due to my age 80. Recently read about a radiation side effect called proctitis which seems to present with the symptoms I’m having. Anyone having similar experience

A small rise in PSA What do you think of my plan
I'm a 76 1/3 yo that has spent 2 1/4 yrs on Zytiga had IMRT, SBRT to the bone and on Xgeva. Psa was <.1 for 8 mos and has risen to .2 Alk Phos looks good. I'm expecting PSA will not go down and plan to try again to get Dexamethasone prescribed in lieu of pred. Will provide my MO in advance of next visit

Nightmares and flashbacks
My mum died in hospital on 29th December after a brave battle with IPF and COPD. I don't fee I cans tart grieving because I can't get those final days out of my head. Sudden loss of smell as a possible symptom of COVID-19, coagulopathy and antiphospholipid antibodies in patients with COVID-19
Two other patients with similar findings were seen at the specialised
intensive
care
unit for patients with COVID-19 at Tongji Hospital, Wuhan, China. Serologic tests in these patients were positive for anticardiolipin IgA antibodies as well as anti-β2-glycoprotein I IgA, and IgG antibodies.

I haven’t been on for a while for various reasons, but I am so pleased to see that Midge has taken over Don’s poem writing, although I expect some paw holding is going on from Don! I had an exacerbation at the beginning of December which failed to clear, so had a second rescue pack at the end of the

Short update on MIL
She has completed her 6th, and last, round of chemo. While her blood marker dropped dramatically it's nowhere near what would be a remission. We found out at beginning of January she definitely has dementia and periphal neuropathy. Chemo makes both of those conditions worse so oncologist isn't recommending

Hospital indefinitely?
Hi, my father (82), a PSP sufferer since 2014 diagnosis (Parkinsons prior to that for 3-4 years) was admitted to hospital last Tuesday and has been struggling to breathe with pneumonia. The acute infection has gone, but now his lungs are damaged and apparently, due to PSP he doesn't use them properly

Incidence of thrombotic complications in critically ill ICU patients with COVID-19
Precise knowledge of the incidence of thrombotic complications in COVID-19 patients is important for decision making with regard to intensity of thromboprophylaxis, especially in patients admitted to the
intensive
care
unit (ICU) who are at highest thrombotic risk.

To anyone who received whole pelvic radiation: 16 months ago I had HDR brachytherapy followed by IMRT and whole pelvic radiation (WPR), after 7 months of lupron and zytiga (+pred) (I just finished 24 months of lupron+Z). 6 months ago I had a whole blood count (WBC) with differential, and in it I saw

Post IMRT questions
Have not been here for a while. I had IMRT about 14 months ago and have been on Lupron for a little longer. My Questions: Had a recent heart attack (minor) and have a history of heart trouble. I believe I read somewhere during my furious research phase at the beginning that Lupron may not be the best
