can’t get this out of my head

I ended up in intensive care, I suffered sepsis, pneumonia, multi organ failure and was put in an induced coma. My Glasgow coma scale score was 3, my family were told I was unlikely to survive. I did survive and the intensive care staff told me its a miracle I did.

hello, my partner has been in intensive care coming up to 5 months now. I feel incredibly lonely, and would love to speak to someone going through a similar thing and maybe be able to support each other.

ICU and teeth/dental hygiene gums

Hello, this might seem a strange one, given all the other major after-effects of intensive care, but I got a bit of a shock yesterday to be told I have gum disease.

Dearest friends

I have been in Intensive Care Unit for 4 weeks with pneumonia in both lungs and also a virus. I am much improved and although very weak, I am hoping to be home in the next couple of days. It's going to be a slow recovery but I will be back with you in the next week or two.

ICU intensive care/Covid and Osteoporosis

Hello, this is a bit of a left field one, and it has come as a complete shock, but on top of all my other post-covid pneumonitis debilitations I have now been diagnosed with osteoporosis. It seems some of the bones in my spine are not what they should be and are pinching nerves, and this is contributing

Mastocytosis?

I ended up in Intensive care and I have never fully recovered. I then started having terrible attacks involving my gallbladder and was hospitalised many time. There where no stones.

Final stages of CBD

Hi all My dad is in the final stages of CBD and in fact the Palliative Care Consultant seems to think we have less than 3 months left with him. I am really really struggling with this and can't bear the thought of not having my dad but this illness is the cruellest illness I have ever encountered.

5 Year old with asthma

He was life-watched by helicopter to a bigger city with a pediatric intensive care unit. He was then diagnosed with moderate asthma. They noticed his adenoids were enlarged. He had them removed. We have never experienced asthma in our family so this is all new to us.

Well, so much for feeling normal....

Some of you may have read my long story on the Enhertu infusion. I have it in my lungs, spine and then it spread to my liver and the next treatment (Xeloda, I think) and after three months still progression. If you have the time, grab a cup of coffee and read. OR, if you are having trouble sleeping

Change from Ropinerole to Rigotine patches

I saw a new Neurologist at my local hospital last week as my RLS has been made worse by the chemo I am on. I am stage 4 and Palliative care for Sarcoma with mets in liver, chest wall and spine. I told him I can’t wean off Ropinerole so he suggested changing to Rigotine patches which, as I also have IBS
