For a whole year after my prostatectomy I felt like I had a "charley horse" in my right butt cheek. I complained about it to my medical oncologist and he had a radiation oncologist zap my sacrum with 800gys of IMRT. About two weeks later the pain was gone! Now, many years later, I'm feeling a similar pain in my left butt cheek. Would I be correct in assuming they can radiate my sacrum again?

A Pain in the Butt
What is your age and general health? What treatments have you had? To answer your question you can't have radiation to the same area twice. However there may be other options for you.
Cool penguins. Those in the know shall chime in for you .. you will find a fix . PainIs the enemy of happiness . Good luck .👍
I assume you meant 800 cGy, which = 8 Gy. If so, they can and should re-treat it.
Magnus1964 and Tall_ Allen - In 2015 at age 54, I was diagnosed with Gleason 5+4=9 with substantial mets in my hips, pelvis, and many spots along my spine. I was way beyond getting help from radiation for curative use but they told me they could use it for palliative purposes. Instead of receiving many shots of low dose radiation, they gave me one big dose of radiation once. I’m pretty sure it was 800 greys (but I may not remember correctly after so many years). This was not to kill cancer but to alleviate pain. I’m now 59 years old and in moderately poor health. I’m generally in too much bone pain to exercise. I’m 6’-2” 250 lbs. (most of that weight in my Lupron-formed belly). I know guys who’ve had low dose radiation over an extended period of time are unable to have more radiation, but I was a “one and done”, “Hit it, and quit it” kind of guy! I thought I might be able to be treated again. Has no one heard of the palliative use of radiation? Hopefully, this information is of more help to you wise gentlemen!
Charlie may be a good time to get off your horse and give us more bio/info about yourself. Age/location/scores - psa/gleason/treatments to date/treatment center(s)/doctor's name(s)? All info voluntary but it helps us help you and helps us too. Thank You!

One of the best comments I read about this song is:
"I don't know why but I want to be buried with this song."
Hopefully you had a good stay at home Easter.
Thanks....

This Johnny sees himself in every klutzy movement in the video as being that "Here comes Johnny."
No cough, fever, tiredness or difficulty breathing so made it through another day and can only hope for the same this time tomorrow.
BE WELL and have a good week
do not assume anything. Ask.
Can I assume that comment was for me?

Not for you. For the writer of the question, scoofer 33. In medical (and most other circles) assuming is not a good idea.
I know the "U and ME" theory..... I was just pulling your leg..... But good to see you're responding quickly which means you're UNvirusED..... Keep safe...

and back to you. Another week of this and we will all be crazy for conversation.
Yep.... I was so hard up to talk to someone the other day that I actually spoke to the Jehovah Witness guy who rang my bell. He said my living room is the first one he's seen in the last two years (I even got a booklet from him)......

they are interesting people to talk to. Not surprised that they seldom see the living room.
That was surely hospitable of you to invite them in John!!
Not hospitable..... LONELY.....
