Lancet study on carbs: a critique
This is quite long, so rather than clutter up Zest's thread (or the other one discussing the newspaper editorial) I thought I'd better create a separate one, simply because lot of people might find my comments too boring to respond to :) First off (and I'm not pretending this is an academic observation

Adding radiation to chemo or not?
Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone could offer some insight or even their own thoughts into my dad’s latest dilemma as I think it’s possibly a rare situation. You all have been so helpful in previous posts, thank you so much! I couldn’t do this alongside my dad without this forum. I can’t find much info

I was in

Ovarian Cancer
My mother in law has just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, having a drain put in today to stay in for seeable future, tumour is 16.7 cm x 12.8, because of her age 84 and how frail she is they are just doing palliative care. A ct scan was done in 2016 and a cyst was seen on ovaries but wasn’t followed

New Website Review
A new review of Hospice Foundation of America just went live on HealthWeb Navigator! Our editors think it's a great source for hospice and palliative care info. Thoughts? https://healthwebnav.org/website/hospice-foundation-of-america/

Advised not to use any creams for moisturising when on oxygen?
But I’ve been using Vaseline
intensive
care
on my body, but only water based Optilube lubricant in and around my nose. But what about the rest of my face, which is getting very dry. I normally use Boots No7 day cream and have had no problems.

F18 PSMA-1007 PET/CT Scan - Result
I previously posted about this scan and wondered about it's value. I had a rising PSA after robotic prostatectomy in April 2016 with a Gleason 4+3+T5 & pT2C, clear margins, appeared organ confined. PSA climbed continuously since the procedure with current PSA of 0.87 with doubling time of 5 months.

So it's back in a bad way!
Tumour marker is back in 3000s been told peritoneal lining now. Put on palliative care with expectancy of a year if I'm lucky but due to bowel obstruction that I cleared and am now on a low residue diet and steroids...can be months if bowels play up again. Feel like I'm hanging in a tree waiting for

Back in Black, a blog post about perseverance (or being bloody minded, you decide).
So that’s the second time my fitness had saved me, if I hadn’t had been so fit the advice was I would be in
intensive
care
and with limited chances of coming back out again, well who would have thought it. Oh and I contracted sepsis again just for good measure.
