Artificial Sweeteners
Good morning, all. I found this newsletter in my inbox this morning from IDM (Intensive Dietary Management), I think this is Jason Fung's group. You have to scroll on down in there to find a short post on artificial sweeteners. https://idmprogram.com/idm-round-up-june-21-2019/?utm_source=IDM+List+-+

Low carb advise please
I have been ttc for 16 months, I know compared its not long but after 14 months I went to see the GP and after several blood tests, they have now said I have mild Pcos. The Dr said I need to change my diet to a low carb and low sugar diet, due to my hormone levels being abnormal and insulin being a factor

FBS higher after morning walk !!
As a new experiment I checked FBS before and after a 5 KM morning walk. Surprisingly, before walk it was 125 and after it was 145. Googling says it happens as liver produces more glucose on exercising but enough insulin is not produced by my body. Thus the enhanced reading. What to do ??

About the recent insulin articles
There have been various articles and media stories about whether there is a correlation about pre diabetes
insulin
resistance
and fibromyalgia. Also, whether the use of the drug metformin can treat fibromyalgia pain and give relief.

Type II Diabetes and Blood Glucose Testing
As mentioned before I am a firm believer of BG testing for Type IIs even if not on insulin. Whilst the HbA1c gives a good indication of average BG it does not show how it was achieved. Research shows that if BG stays in a narrower band the chance of complications are reduced compared to the same HbA1c

Keto questions
I've been hearing a lot about keto recently, and I'm planning to give it a go. I have a few questions, and figure this is the best place to ask! 1. Should you do anything to prepare for keto? I've heard people say it's a good idea to preceed keto with a period of 16:8 fasting, to regulate insulin levels
