INSULIN RESISTANCE - What does it mean?
It is cited as the cause of diabetics in general. The treatment methods we are going through leaves me confused very much. The medication we are following at present is to change the structure of the insulin secreted by the system or to be supportive for the cells so as to enable them to make use

This is what a small bottle of soda does to your body
AFTER 10 MNUTES------ 10 teaspoonfuls of sugar will enter your body. This is 100% of your daily need. You won't vomit due to massive amounts of sugar because phosphoric acid holds back the taste. AFTER 20 MINUTES----- your blood sugar spikes and insulin is released. Your liver quickly responds and transforms

Storage conditions for Insulin
Hello, could you please suggest storage conditions for insulin and how it reacts when it's at diff. temperatures? Also, how can we know insulin is not usable? I kept insulin in the refrigerator and am taking with me to the office with cooling bags. For the last 2 days, I am unable to manage my BS levels

Mislocalised calcium channel causes insulin secretion defect in diabetes.
After a meal the blood sugar rises . To counteract this and to make sugar available to the body, specialised cells in the pancreas get activated to secrete insulin. In people with diabetes, this mechanism fails, which leads to elevated blood sugar and a host of other diabetes related complications.

Meanwhile, prediabetics are still over-producing
insulin
(in a futile attempt to overcome
insulin
resistance
- higher levels merely reduce
insulin
sensitivity further.) Non-diabetics at PCa diagnosis score higher in symptoms of the metabolic syndrome [MetS] than non-diabetics without PCa.

How to manage blood sugar during illness and infection
It is very common to see that blood sugar rises during illness and infection. This rise in blood sugar is difficult to control. Why?
Some reasons:
1.)
The body releases extra glucose in circulation, during illness or infection. This can lead to rise in blood sugar.
2.)
The hormones

Greetings from a confused type 2 diabetic
Hi all, I'm a 47 year old female diagnosed type 2 4/5 years ago. It runs in both sides of my family (so I always assumed I would get it no matter what I did), maternal side controlled by diet only, paternal side uses mediation, I won't say is controlled as mine and my dads levels are still high and

Foods that are good/bad
Hiya, I've been reading a few articles about PCOS and the diets associated with them I wondered if anybody knows what sort of foods you should try and avoid if you have PCOS. Does it really make a difference if you miss out the starchy foods etc? I don't understand completely the whole insulin part

Doc advised me to switch over to lantus insulin 12 points daily plus triglynase 1 mg. I found insulin had no effect. Alarmingly i had morning high
