Connection between T3 and insulin resistance
Would appreciate others' comments on this: http://www.tiredthyroid.com/insulin-resistance.html The reason I'm asking is because I've been struggling with highish blood sugar and
insulin
levels for years, so basically
insulin
resistance
, and that has not improved on NDT - if anything, got slightly worse

A tale of four hormones
I am gradually getting my head around how and why LCHF works. It’s not enough for me to be told a diet has worked for loads of people, I need my brain to be involved & understand why I have to give up buckwheat pancakes & rye toast. So. Halle Berry does Keto and looks amazing. Bully for her in my view

Interference From High-Dose Biotin Intake in Immunoassays for Potentially Time-Critical Analytes by Roche
This paper not only identifies and discusses biotin interference in blood test results - but also suggests specific approaches which can overcome the issue. At the time of posting, the full paper is freely accessible, albeit an Early Release version. That means, it might be updated before a final version

Healthy New Year’s Checklist for People with Kidney Disease
For those of you on Original Medicare, you know that at the beginning of each year you are advised about a Wellness Check that OM will cover. For those of you who have other insurance you may or may not receive something similar. In any case, I thought this checklist would be valuable for all to see

Has anyone gone back to levo after years on NDT?
NDT did not change that, however, and I could only lose weight after I got my
insulin
resistance
under control using berberine. But, unlike many other people on T4 mono therapy, I never felt cold, nor was I excessively tired and sluggish.

Having to go off NDT after several years and back on levo only - how to explain it?
This book also claims that taking too much T3 (and this does not necessarily mean having above range FT3 levels, just taking too much T3 relative to T4) causes
insulin
resistance
which I have been diagnosed with. I connected it with the steroid treatment, but maybe the T3 in NDT made it worse.

Gluten free comforting millet porridge
Hi everyone, this is my creamy warming millet seed porridge. Millet seed has so much going for it, it's full of vitamins, minerals and fibre for a start. It is an alkaline food, the magnesium in it improves insulin sensitivity to help prevent diabetes, high in calcium, totally gluten free and low calorie

Diabetes 2 - cause & treatment
Diabetes 2 is now reclassified as an Autoimmune disease. See article below http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/222766.php It means there are antibodies to Insulin. The insu-lin is there but the antibodies bind to it and it is not free to act as insulin. Even when more insulin is produced
