IVF and diabetes

IVF doctors know pretty much NOTHING about diabetes. Your GP can tell you that your blood sugar levels are perfect but unless they're in normal (

Looking for advice as my sister has been diagnosed and want to help
Hi All, Having witnessed the distress my lovely sister is going through I want to help but don't know how. I see her exhaustion and lack of progress with medication. She is an insulin dependant diabetic and the meds seem to have really messed up her sugar levels. Consequently her fatigue has increased

It's never too late
Smoking was killing me, and on top of that I was paying a fortune to have a slow suicide, well thank God I was able to stop 12 years ago. Since then my life changed so much, I did put extra weight on but more about that later. Before I stopped smoking I was smoking 180 cigarettes a week, which I couldn't

How to stop cravings and succeed in your weight loss plan
I spent ages writing a post and lost it. I now post a shortened version. To lose weight one has to consume fewer calories than one needs to maintain ones weight. It sounds easy, but cravings often cause people to give up. Cravings are caused by consuming refined sugars and refined carbohydrates. To simplify

Low carb diets...???
A couple of days ago, I got my lab results back and they are clearly indicative of
insulin
resistance
: fasting glucose 110 mg/dL (ref 70-105) and fasting
insulin
18 uU/mL (ref 2.6-24.9; should be <5 according to several low carb forums I've visited).

What are the symptoms of Insulin Resistance?
I get extremely sleepy after eating food it's like I'm drugged and just feel unwell in general, also my sister has PCOS so I suspect that I might have IR. Are there any other symptoms that I should look out for?

Unstable Diabetes, Type II
I really understand your frustration. I am 76 and managed Diabetes Type II for over 40 years. Now is so much more complicated and unstable. I added Januvia, to Metformin and now Insulin daily and eat 100% sugar-free and healthy and still have trouble staying in a healthy range. Good luck to you!

Here is what a leading Endochrinolgist from a leading Hospital has to say to a T2 patient of 44 years old. The patient lost weight going from 49 kg to 38 kg in her dietary approach to control blood sugar... The YouTube video link is attached at the bottom of this posting..... I'm sorry it is in Hindi

Metformin weight loss/doctors
Hi, I went to a fertility specialist. He diagnosed me with pcos. He was very knowledgeable on the subject, I felt like a lot made sense. He put me on Metformin (at the time, to conceive) but he said a lot about insulin levels etc and the Metformin would level it out. With exercise and healthy eating
