How to stop cravings and succeed in your weight loss plan

I spent ages writing a post and lost it.

I now post a shortened version.

To lose weight one has to consume fewer calories than one needs to maintain ones weight. It sounds easy, but cravings often cause people to give up.

Cravings are caused by consuming refined sugars and refined carbohydrates. To simplify this; processed foods. The reason that we get cravings after eating, or drinking them is they mess up our insulin levels. An example is; someone gives you a chocolate bar, you are NOT HUNGRY, yet after one square you go on to eat the whole bar.

Doctor Hillary Jones who often appears on ITV said" the best way to lose weight and then maintain a healthy is to never eat, or drink anything with an ingredients label on it".

I was 17 stones at my maximum weight I have been at a healthy weight for many years. I used to yo yo diet, until I discovered th GI diet. I have adapted it to suit me. I hate chocolate and all of those foods that caused me cravings in the past. Not only am I a healthy weight I am ver fit and healthy.

I like that - "never eat anything with an ingredients label on it". The NO snacking NOvember challenge is helping me towards achieving just that!

yeah, it's good advice. For some people just that single thing can make a huge difference. I think Michael Pollan said something similar all those years ago - something along the lines of "don't eat anything your great-grandparents wouldn't recognise as food".

Meanwhile, advertisers have been busy trying to convince everyone that their chemically-engineered products aren't just food - it's good for you too! And I reckon they've succeeded.

Hmm, if I rip the label off my dark chocolate is that OK? 😆

Seriously, thats good advice from Dr HJ and also from TheAwfulToad about great-grandparents . Unfortunately mine were very poor and I draw the line at tripe &onions ! 😊
