Hi guys, sorry haven’t been about much this last few days but seriously the flight and journey back home on Wednesday from Kings to Belfast wiped me out...all going well here, still in RVH local hospital, taco levels slow to rise sitting at 3.5 and they want them to be between 5 and 10...however pain free, in great form, up and about ..missing my mate Maxey 666 of course for the banter but so much more settled being closer to family and dear hubby getting a chance for some rest after two tiring weeks in London....still few issues with the insulin doses as just gone onto insulin from tablet controlled diabetes but we will get there. Feeling fabulous and hopefully next step home to ma own bed mid week. Love and light to you all , off to browse posts xx Eilish xxxxxx
Update from a frosty belfast - British Liver Trust
Update from a frosty belfast
So pleased the trip home went fine. I am sure it was exhausting though. Rest up then when you get home take your time - allow yourself the time to heal and the time for your hubby to relax too. Take offers of food, or even ask people to cook or shop for the both of you.
In a few weeks you will feel able to go out but please avoid colds, and more so flu.
Plan a lovely Christmas in your head and as you get better you can order on line the pressies and make any decorations you want. I made sure my post transplant Christmas was lovely!
In short just take your time and make an afternoon snooze part of your routine for as long as you need!
Lots of love
Izzy xx
Dear Bbsmom, I am a liver patient at King's, and once a month, on a Wednesday I do voluntary work for a couple of hours, asking patients about their satisfaction with the food in the wards. By chance or fate this last week I visited Todd ward, which is a place dear to me, and was told about a patient waiting to go home, post transplant, back to Belfast, to recuperate more fully nearer home - so that was you! I am so pleased that you got back safely, and that you are recovering well, closer to your family and friends. This was just to say you, the anonymous you, were on my mind and in my heart before your post. Love to you, and speedy recovery... KKK
It was INDEED ne and much as I loved and adored every single one of the staff on Todd I was glad to cone closer to home to allow darling hubby a rest from all the visiting and allow me to see darling dear son n heir and the rest of the amazing fambam ....it is a great relief to be nearer to hone and recovery coming on nicely n hopely a few more days will see me home in my own bed ..ps..I DO miss the food in Kings lol ...top notch n this place not a patch on kings food lol xx much love Eilish xx

Miles
Thrilled to bits for you and your family. Stay strong is my wish for you. Xxxx
That's great that your finally back in Belfast Eilish, nearer to being back home. I hope your recovery is speedy and issue free.
You are in my thoughts and prayers for a good future,🙏🙏🙏
David
Great you got home, I can really understand how hard the trip must have been, I only had to travel 80 miles and was worn out
My diabetes was all over the place with the steroids, had to test my bloods all the time, but as the steroids stopped my diabetes got better and better, I am now in remission and the diabetes has gone.
Bear with it will get better.
Take it easy and get better soon
David
David thank you so much for the reassurance that is good to know, I have been diabetic for 10 years, last 3 controlled by 1 dose of 500mg metformin a day and sugars never above 6.5..to see them soar to the mid 20s is alarming and scary to say the least, my steroids dropped to 15mgs today so hopefully will show on the diabetes blood sugars and we can start to balance the insulin steroid dose more evenly, slow and steady though , I’m in no hurry to rush anywhere when they are still tweaking things, much love Exxxx
Hello Eilish
So glad you got home to Belfast 😊 Take it easy and rest up.
Unfortunately hubby still in ICU (almost 4 weeks now!) it just seems to be taking him a long time to be fully responsive. The team are great and I know they are doing all they can for him. Praying we get home before Christmas 🙏
Best wishes
Geraldine 🤗
