Update and question about verapamil
Quick update.....stopped flecainide and reduced verapamil. Feeling good and no afib, no SVT. Surprisingly blood pressure which was always good dropped (now 107/68), but Verapamil is meant to lower blood pressure. go figure. Only change I have made recently other than meds is use of taurine (close to

Low triiodothyronine levels correlate with high B-type natriuretic peptide levels in patients with heart failure
An association between low T3 and cardiac disorders. They appear to very responsibly avoid unwarranted conclusions - which came first? - but at least the question is being asked. [i] • Open Access • Published: 08 November 2021

info on triple heart bypass recovery for my dad
It looks as if my dad will be discharged from hospital this week following a triple heart bypass op last week and I wondered if anyone could tell me when it's likely he'll be able to go for walks around his neighbourhood, etc? Will he be allowed to cook, make a cup of tea, etc? He lives on his own but

A decade on from heart failure diagnosis
Today marks ten years since I was unexpectedly diagnosed with heart failure at the tender age of 31. I remember back then being told by Dr "Death Knell" Google that I'd be dead within five years. [Nowadays I know Dr Google is an unqualified quack who knows nothing and likes to present worst case scenarios

I’ve had plenty of
heart
checks due to my
health
anxiety so I’m sure it wasn’t but was so scared that it was a heart attack but I’ve been able to move around good today. Just scared it’ll happen again.

A warm Green Lentil Salad with Sweet Potato Chips
Hi everyone, I had this meal today at lunch time and enjoyed it. It has simple ingredients and it's versatile as it can be eaten as it is or can be topped with fish , egg or chicken breast. Edamame Beans can be replaced with frozen peas. Cooked green lentils, steamed broccoli florets, carrots, Edamame

Hi I’m new here! I had LV Heart Failure in 2010 and lived a fairly unrestricted life. In Jan this year I contracted COVID which has made my condition worse with RV Heart failure (pacemaker upgraded) and type II respiratory failure for which I’m on 2 litres at rest, 3 mobilising and 4 at night through

left ventricular systolic dysfunction
Following my recent heart echo this diagnosis has appeared on my NHS GP record - "left ventricular systolic dysfunction". I had the echo because I get breathless these days just walking across the road to the shops, but when I went to see the GP to discuss my results there was no mention of "left ventricular

I underwent Open Heart surgery in August 2021 at the Brompton Hospital in west London, my surgeon was Mario Petrou part of the cardiac department headed by Professor Pepper. I was due for a P.E.A.R.S procedure for my ascending aorta but the surgical plan was changed when I was in surgery. Mr Petrou

Upcoming valve replacement surgery - Any advice?
I've recently learned I need to have Mitral Valve Replacement heart surgery, and am really scared. I was wondering if there is anybody else in this group who's undergone the procedure who could tell me a bit about the process, recovery and how you felt in the weeks/months after? Can you live a normal

No question it was the strong orgasm as I experienced strong heart abnormal beats like your heart was going

Sexual PTSD
So I've gotten two bacterial infections in the past. I've never been that promiscuous. I just got unlucky. They were ladies I thought I could trust. I've deprived myself of sexual contact because I'm terrified of putting my penis in someone again even with a condom. I haven't been sure how to get past

Getting off Verapamil
After 2nd ablation for SVT, I had AFib episodes. Cardiologist said I could take Verapamil and if this did not stop Afib, could add Flecainide. I was told for the SVT ablation blanking period 1 week. I concluded 3 months more appropriate and decided to take 180 mg Verapamil sustained release once/day
