Aortic valve replacement
My beautiful boy was born with Aortic stenosis. He’s had to valvuloplasties one when he was 12 and the other when he was 16. The latter left his valve leaking but he’s been ok. Now he’s 34 and we have just heard he has to have the valve replaced with an onyx mechanical valve. This has to be done in the

Oxygen. Thing is I have severe COPD (emphysema and bronchiectasis) at stage four. Last FEV1 32%. I am 78. Now I have also had arrhythmia and some oedema so I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure as well. But two echo- cardiograms showed a healthy heart, two E CGs have showed the rhythm is now

Anyone been prescribed a drug to lower heart rate for procedure to see if you have narrow arteries?
Hello , just been told I’m going to be prescribed something ( not beta blockers) to make my heart rate under 60 then I’ll have an ECG to check , after that I’ll have a procedure of which I forgot the name to check my circulation for any narrowing etc Has anyone had this done and I wondered what happened

Update
I’m getting released today from the hospital. I had my defibrillator wire removed this past Wednesday. A very delicate procedure considering the wire has been in for 17 years. The wire has damaged my Tricuspid valve in my heart allowing blood to back up into my liver and cause cardiac cirrhosis. Hopefully

Another Pee-Pee Post
My apology to you 'gentlemen' & 'tough-guys' who are probably tired of reading my repetitious posts regarding incontinence and restroom stories; however, if this helps even one comrade, it was worth my time writing! I have been reading numerous posts about frequent, nightly restroom trips, and I'm wondering

issue will impact on insurance. Insurance is about chance and statistics, and unfortunately those with health issues are more likely to claim. It is what it is so just get on with it. One final thought.

Hi all, I started treatment in April (Ibrutinib) and it’s doing what it should do. I had a skin biopsy on my leg on Tuesday with 4 stitches. The wound is still bleeding today 4 days later!! Just a slow bleed but having to change dressings a few times a day! Does anybody have any experience of similar

Sanjay Gupta and anticoagulants
I just watched Sanjay Gupta's YouTube video on anticoagulants. He said it is not the Afib but the company it keeps that is responsible for a stroke therefore anticoagulation is only advised if you have other factors i.e high blood pressure, diabetes, heart failure etc. If that is the case why are all

Covid booster
I've just been to have my covid booster and they refused to give it because I have had open heart surgery in August, said I could be at risk of inflammation around the heart, I now have to get advice from Cardiology Consultant to see if it is ok to have. Anyone else experienced this? I had Astra Zenica

The cheating side of town (or 5 minute tomato soup)
This is nearly as fast to make as opening a can of tomato soup. I'd found myself with a pot of droopy basil which I hadn't got around to using, and rather than waste it, i decided to rescue it while it was still OK to use. I only had store cupboard ingredients to hand, so used what I had. The ingredients
