Hi everyone. I've just been diagnosed with gout four days ago. :( I've been having a weeks holiday from work this week and on the Monday I woke up with the classic gout symptoms but didn't know what it was at the time, just thought I'd twisted or hurt my big toe on my right foot. I carried on as normal

Resistance training does help
Hi Folks. Many of you know that I have posted before about the huge benefits of weight-training. Herewith is a picture of a friend of mine with her trophy in a bikini class competition. Dani wants her pics to help and inspire others. She is in her 40s and was diagnosed with RA in 1991. I won't bore

Gout and possible Tophi
Hi there everyone I am posting about my husband. He gets gout attacks periodically (which he has managed until now with diet and exercise, only getting attacks when his routine is messed up and he accidentally eats more gouty foods than his exercise allows for, if that makes any sense!). He also

Hi all, I'm really trying to make a conscious effort to do more exercise. I try and get myself to two hour-long classes each week: Legs, Bums & Tums and Body Balance. BEWARE OF CARNIVOROUS WHEELIE BINS
Sleeping last night was difficult with the heat and with a side effect of my lupus and several other related ailments, so I had to take one of the sleeping pills my Dr prescribed in response to one of the other ailments, and I did have a good night’s sleep after all. Upon being woken soon after dawn

Livalo: A Safer Statin?
I had some problems with lipid-soluble Simvastatin a while ago. It took several months before my liver enzymes fell into the normal range. After reading the information regarding cholesterol and lethal prostate cancer, I sent an email to my oncologist to ask him if there weren't some other statin I could

Now a word from our sponsor. C.B.D.s vs T.H.C.
C.B.D.s from my experience, and some Dr.s is like most herbal remedies. You might find it works or it works for a short while or you will need THC to get the full affect of the plant. There are tinctures for CBDs, I would recommend one that has been tested so you know what exactly is in it. I find the

HIGH URIC ACID
Close to 2 months on Imbruvica. Now up to 196k. Blood count shows Uric acid up to 7.2. Taking Allopurinol 100 mg. Isn't this supposed to keep that acid down? OMG - What next to expect? Am I close to "peak" numbers yet?

New ITP patient
After one year of low platelets my hemotologist started me on Rituxin but also gives decadron lnfusion . I now have a rollercoaster ride of insommnia for 3 days then fatigue. I've had two of four treatments and want to stop the decadron. My doctor said I had a skin irritation reaction to the Rituxin
