Now a word from our sponsor. C.B.D.s vs T.H.C.

C.B.D.s from my experience, and some Dr.s is like most herbal remedies. You might find it works or it works for a short while or you will need THC to get the full affect of the plant. There are tinctures for CBDs, I would recommend one that has been tested so you know what exactly is in it. I find the instrumentation of choice, a H.P.L.C. Start at 20mg and slowly work up. If it works fantastic, if not it might be time to add THC. There are tinctures for straight T.H.C. also.

I find that if you have a substantial amount of pain in your Parkinson's it might be time to add T.H.C. First if you find that you started to feel some relief with C.B.D.s (let say 100mg) cut that in half and start adding 10mg of THC. DO NOT!!! add more THC if do not feel anything. This day is blown. I find that I will not feel much effect until hour 3 and will last 7 to 9 hours. The first sign will be the dry mouth. On day 2 add another 5 mg of THC with the same amount of CBDs. I have found that I take 30 mg to make my days manageable and 40 mg to make my days enjoyable.

This is obviously ingested. I find it a whole body relax and relieves the muscle cramping I suffer from.

PS I am still on all of my prescribed P D meds.

I am interested in any one that has seen good results from CBD and exactly what were the changes: I havent taken it but just read an article (heavy going) in the following

Hindawi Publishing Corporation

Parkinson’s Disease

Volume 2016, Article ID 1279042, 19 pages

dx.doi.org/10.1155/2016/127... that talks about some good results.

thick reading but clinically solid/worth the time to get through it. thx!

I have achieved relief with CBD from the daily cramping and pain resulting from he dystonia. An unexpected plus has been that constant vibrating that only I can tell is going on is squelched as well. I remember finally being dx'd 11 -12 years ago thinking I had some sort of nerve damage on my right side. Before CBD the only thing that would relieve the (cell phone vibrating in my right pocket) was acupuncture. Now between both therapies I once again have something positive to report.

I achieved a little help from straight CBDs for apx. 2 months. At 200 mg a day it was too costly.

cell phone vibration/feeling: same here. funny way to describe something I couldn't otherwise express @Pelley ! whats the dosage/method for your CBD intake? and if it's not "legal" in ur state, is it possible to order it online/other (asking for a friend... of course...)

A H.P.L.C. is a High Pressure Liquid Chromatography. A liquid sample is pushed through a series of columns with different size pellets. The molecules with he larger structure has a slower time going through the columns giving you separate peaks for each component. The size of the peak tells you the amount of each separate component in that sample.

I am still trying to find the most economical way to go about it.

Now this is through a licensed dispensary.

Pre made Edibles run me $3.00 a dose, on sale about $2.25.

tested tinctures about $3.50 a dose.

make my own cannabis infused coconut oil $7.00 a dose.

I still have to try taking a concentrate and mixing into the coconut oil, if that works it will be $2.09 a dose for me.

Cost of good (consistent, tested) CBD product by Care By Design has dropped in CA recently -- not sure if available online to other states.

I tried a strait THC concentrate from the Indica strain of Master Kush. I mixed in about 500 mg CBD to 1000 mg of THC. I have settled on 35mg of THC. I will feel the effects starting about 3 hours after ingestion, and it will take me all through the day. THC I need for the pain but the 1 to 2 ratio did not give me the sedation and muscle relaxation I get from a 1 to 1 ratio. I can buy a 1 ml / 1000 mg concentrate for $ 60.00. That will get you to 500 mg of THC. Now I have found the dose for me is 35 mg of THC a day. I then take 500 and divide it by 35, that is for me roughly 14 doses for $ 60.00 dollars. Since it is extremely difficult to divide 1ml into 14 doses, I decided that a 5 ml syringe would work best for accurate dosing. I now take 5 ml and multiply it by 14 so you get 70 ml of coconut oil.

So in conclusion I need to spend $ 120.00 a month to get the relief I need. I hope someone can use this info.

So I have found the perfect dose for me is approximately 35 mg. That is 35 mg of THC taken orally. Then I mix that with at least a 1 to 1 ratio of CBD, if I get a 35 to 50 mg ratio and use coconut oil as the medium a 5 ml dose will kick in, about 3 hours and reach the peak at about 5 hours. I put my oil into my coffee in the morning at 7:00 am so I will make sure not to drive around noon, and about 2 there is no problem.

Do u take pd drugs also ...with the cannabis?

Yes

I started looking at a product referred to as shatter.

youtu.be/IEPdJKOwkC0

It seems to be the cheapest way yet.

There was a sale at my dispensary on DR WHO shatter buy one oz at $55.00 and get the second free. I do believe if this becomes a trend it could be economical.

( I WILL NOT BE HAVING ANY HITLER TODAY! )

It is very interesting but because of the success of cannabis everyone is jumping in on the game. My dispensary has sales every once in a while and I was able to buy a gram of concentrate for $ 55.00 and get a gram free. I wanted to test methods and concentrations so I bought all the same concentrate, DR WHO.

DR WHO shatter concentrate has 81% THCa. So a gram 1000mg will have 810 mg of THC. I diluted the shatter into a half of a cup of coconut oil. I then mixed in a gram of 99% CBD. Unfortunately not on sale $60.00 . I have found that I require 35mg of THC, so I divided 810 by 35 to come up with 23 doses. I wanted the 35mg dose to be in 5 ml coconut oil and converting to cups it was pretty close to half a cup. I will then take between 4 to 5 ml of the cannabis infused oil. If I have to drive I will use between 3 to 4 ml. ( 1 mill equals 7mg ) I no longer have off times and my muscles are much more relaxed. I noticed that the results was better and cheaper than Rytary. I did not get the results vaping that I have ingesting it. The calmness and freedom of movement is amazing. I have dropped my Zolpidem and cut my Pramipexole in half.

I will start to feel the relaxation about 3 hours, peaks about 5 hours and can still feel the results 7 hours latter. No High, no compulsions, pretty much side effect free.

With the help from cannabis I am taking my second vacation since last year, same place. We ,my wife and I, did some research and found that New Hampshire would except an out of state license. We are on the Massachusetts boarder so we could make a quick trip no problem only to find that the dispensary had no idea what I was talking about.

Well I threw caution to the wind and totally enjoyed my self, dancing and all, at my niece's wedding. My watch shows that I spent over an hour and a half of high activity. High Activity. I will be searching for some Cannabis in a state that passed it recreationally but just try to find some.

Brownies?

Serenity_finaly-1 profile image
Serenity_finaly-1 in reply toRosabellazita

No.... I am treating myself with taking a THC concentrate referred to as shatter. I then mix it with CBD concentrate. I am researching the science of the two. I have been looking at the best way to decarboxelate the shatter. Most CBDa is already activated to pure CBD. I am looking at it as a treatment so when the laws allow Parkinson's to freely medicate I will have insight to share. I am just discovering that not all CBDs are created equal. I was just in Massachusetts ( just passed recreational) and came upon a syringe filled with 1500mg of CBD for $ 8.00. I am researching to see if that was a special, the actual price or someone miss priced them, I bought 2.

I will try my best.

Hurdle number 1: Decarboxylation

There are many different ways to activate your product. I have found that the most scientific way to get the most out of Decarboxylation without destroying the the cbd volatiles is to take your oil ( I like coconut oil ) and heat it up to 250 degrees and stabilize it for a half an hour. Once stabilized add your product to the oil. Continue at 250 degrees as long as you see bubbles. As the bubbles start to become faint turn off heat and let set for 15-25 min. then cool and place in a room temp/ or fridge in a dark place.

Oh Yes, I forgot ...... add the soy lecithin ......... makes a world off difference.

Could this be the wave of the future? You have Parkinson's, you want to try to see if it is a possible treatment for you so fly or drive to Nipton stay at their spa while they come up with a blend that helps you.

Had a bit of a hard week. My cannabis infused oil did not seem to be helping even though I doubled the dose. The thought occurred to me that it was time to up my sinemet, so I added 1 Reg. release in the morning and 1 in the evening. MUCH BETTER

FOR ME : a 1 to 1 ratio gives me no high. I might be looking at a night time formula and daytime.

Not all THC is created equal, there is a big difference between an Indica and an indica dominate plant.

youtu.be/QsRAxCzxQm0

I am having some real success in my experiment.

I have a mixture of approximately : 1800mg of CBD to 2,430mg of THC diluted in 1 cup of coconut oil.

Results : muscle rigidity eased in a major way. Relaxation, better sleep patterns, and dare I say clearer thinking.

just 5 mils one in the morning and one at night taken internally.

It has been suggested on this site that Parkinson's begins in the gut. If that being so then cannabis makes some sense.

CBDs do not actually attach to the receptors where THCs do. I wonder if that is why so many of us have a temporary effect with CBDs but the effect wears off over time.

I have to walk a fine line because too much THC gives me the same effect as to much Sinemet.

Sleeplessparki :

When I discovered with my Doctor that anxiety was the most crippling part of my Parkinson's, pain mostly, we treated it with Sertraline. (Zoloft). I slowly started to feel normal in the brain again on top of the physical. When I started this site I was at 150mg. My thoughts were that I would try to communicate in a safe zone. At 200mg my head became clearer yet. It still took months to normalize. I also took Alprazolam 0.25 mg ( Xanax ) 3x a day. My Doctor said that she would not prescribe more because I would become use to it and it would loose its effect long term.

So I had to come up with my own solution. I was maxed out on prescription anti anxiety but it was not enough. I remembered the old Cheech and Chong movies and thought " Hey if there is anybody who should have their brain fried it was Tommy Chong. When I saw him on Dancing With The Stars he was not a burn out but probably the best dancer his age. So I went down the CBD road. As I took the Charlotte's-Web, the dosage soon became 200mg and very little effect. It became clear to me this was not the direction, to costly. The next step was adding THC to the mix. I started vaping with a product called Dream Steam. It helped a lot with sleep and I was thankful for that. I then tried an edible after much talking with professionals and even Doctors. The results ( FOR ME ) were clear that the full body effect of an edible was the direction I wanted to take this. I did my research and started down this path that I am sure will be a long one.

Sleepless, my advise for you is to go to your Dispensary and buy a 1to1 ratio concentrate in a syringe, make sure it is activated first, and secondly ask for the most Indica rich, high CBD strain they have. Now if the syringe is 10 mill at a 1000 mg concentration there will be 500 mg of CBD and 500 mg of THC. Don,t look at it as 1000 mg but 500 mg, the only thing from here to concerned about is the THC level. So 5 mg dose you feel is right for you then 500 mg would give you 100 doses.

So for you a $70.00 syringe would give you 100 doses so 70 cents a dose. Not to bad.

Remember this song? Without decarboxylation chewing on a weed would never get you high.

Now a commercial.

For a large and increasing number of patients, Dream Steam vape pens and cartridges are a trusted, go-to medical cannabis product.

We're happy to announce that effective today, all Dream Steam cartridges will see a permanent reduction in pricing at Harvest dispensaries!

This is not an advertisement, just a look to lowering the price as demand increases.

A little extra cinnamon on my toast. I told you about the 50/50 ratio of CBD to HTC. It smooths out my day with no high. I have made a tincture to add to the concoction of Black Water 88 % THC. I diluted it down to 8mg per mill, just enough for those rough days.
