hi: just started eliquis 5mg 2x a day - borderline AFIB test. Is drinking lite beer or non-alcoholic brew considered OK while taking eliquis? No HX of bleeding conditions etc.
Thanks in advance for the reply/ input!

I'm on Apixaban and drink non-alcohol beer and wine daily, so hope it's OK? Haven't had any problems but interested to hear what anyone else says.
There are no interactions between alcohol and Eliquis - though alcohol may, of course, affect your AF adversely. I should note that I'm not a doctor and I wouldn't recommend an excessive intake!
Interesting thought and whilst I doubt there is any interaction drug wise, alcohol obviously can affect AF. In fact I found non alcoholic beers actually worse in this respect. Remember that they start out as ordinary beers or wines and have the alcohol removed by osmotic process. Only Heineken 0 % is actually alcohol free as most still contain a small percentage I understand. Purely personal but I came to the conclusion that what affected my AF was less the alcohol and more something in the fermentation process.
I'm on Apixaban and drink alcohol in moderation with no ill effects, but in some people alcohol can trigger Afib, my attacks have drastically reduced since I lost 24 Lbs in weight
The least little bit of alcohol affects my mother's afib. She would love a glass of wine or beer occasionally, but she goes into an episode afterwards, so she leaves it alone. We don't even cook with it......
