No intial loss
So I am not getting why I am not losing weight. I have completed C25K, changed diet to healthy eating and now on a vegan low carb and still only lost a total of 1kg (over a total of 9wks). My overall goal is not to be on a yo-yo diet I really just want to eat health, exercise and once a week enjoy a

Hair loss - Hypothyroid?
Instead, I have
gluten
free
food, plant milk, vegan chocolate, decaff coffee, a normal
diet
otherwise. I am not vegetarian, nor vegan. Gps never offered any help, advice. I am taking Biotin to try and save the situation and also caffeine shampoo, but it doesn't seem to solve the hair loss.

I would like to think that a

was helping and that it was worthwhile. Do you yourself follow a

or do you feel it's totally unnecessary? I really do value your opinion and would be so grateful for your comments. Best wishes Caroline

Amitriptyline?
Even though I am
gluten
and dairy
free
and am really careful with my
diet
, I have started to put on weight and my tummy is becoming fat! Could this be the effect of the painkillers on thyroxine or the fact I haven’t been able to be as active? I would appreciate your comments.

Hi Has anyone on this forum undertaken a low carb (clean eating) vegan diet and has any pointers - really new to the low carb diet and so confused with milk alternatives and whether they are low carb??? Thanks :)

What do people mean when they say….
Diet
This phrase is a bit ambiguous: it can mean way of eating, see below, or it can mean a temporary weight loss plan that you only do for a short amount of time, before returning to your previous diet. See? It's confusing!
WOE/Way of eating
The term diet has negative connotations

Has the Endo/Anti-inflammatory diet worked for you?
Or any
diet
like
gluten
-
free
/dairy free/sugar free etc. Just wondering for those on it, how long did it take to get actual results? Did the pain get better? stay the same? Did you stop and go back to normal eating after that or still continuing?

Buddha bowl fruit salad
So it's not particularly low-carb, but I just fancied some refreshing fruit this evening. It consists of apple, small apricot, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries plus a dollop of peanut butter scattered with toasted seeds. I eat it with that tiny dessert fork (pretentious? moi?) as it seems to make

LCHF mythbusting : part II
Another in my ongoing series of rants!
LCHF only works because it reduces your calories.
This one drives me crazy. It's usually preceded by a grudging acknowledgement that "LCHF works, but ..." and concluded with "... so any calorie-controlled diet would work as well". To which the obvious response

I might have relaxed what I was eating, but I am a nervous wreck here, I worked 2 yrs on a

Insulin and Prostate.
This is a VERY interesting video to gentlemen of a certain age concerning enlarging of the prostate. Previous to watching this my take was a shrug of the shoulders in that it's 'something that comes to men with age. I'd gone as far as I could in researching the condition and came up against 'testosterone

My Swedish supper
This is probably the tastiest beige plate I have eaten since I went low carb. Swedish meatballs in a rich sauce; sautéed cabbage and leeks;celeriac home fries; redcurrant & blackcurrant sauce. 😋 (plating my food for photography increases my pleasure, so I have to share the photos with someone. sorry

Fasting and visceral fat (or at least waist size)
I started fasting via Michael Mosley's Fast800. So low calorie (I was between 800-1000 kcal/day), low carb, IF. In the first month I lost 7.4kg, and 10cm off my waist. https://healthunlocked.com/fasting-and-furious/posts/142414943/1st-month-fasting-lchf Then I joined HU, took advice from various people
