New to in center HD
I'm in my 2nd week of in center HD and have been experiencing terrible bloating and gas. Is this related to the dialysis, or is something else going on? Juvenile diabetic, CHF, hypertension. Kidney function been decreasing last 5 years. I've been on transplant list (kidney/pancreas) for one year, was

tenofovir disoproxil fumarate and weight gain
I was contacted today by a liver nurse. I found out that I have been prescribed tenofovir. I started reading about it. I saw online that it is associated not only with kidney problems, and bone density problems, but also a weight gain and body shape changes!!! What are other peoples experiences?! Have

Low BP
I've used Amlodipine for long time to help Raynauds, recently BP has become quite low so have stopped Amlodipine. Has anyone used Naftidrofuryl as it has been suggested as doesn't lower BP.

HRT anyone?
Hi all, I was diagnosed with Lupus last June. Luckily my symptoms are mild - and my rhumatologist agreed that i didn't need to start hydroxyholorquine if I didn't want to. I'm definitely peri-menopausal and a lot of "symptoms" of lupus overlap with perimenopause and my rhumatologist agreed it's

B12 result after 6 months…
Hi, So initially in October I was diagnosed with what they suspect to be pernicious anaemia, I had a negative IF test but due to me having diabetes and no other factors which could indicate why I was so low in B12 they put it down to me having pernicious anaemia. I had 6 loading doses after which my

Possible kidney disease
Hi friends, after a recent flare-up I got some routine testing done, and one of the kidney markers showed up in a urine test. It showed micro-proteins, or mircoalbuminuria, which is different to the protein that shows up for a UTI. Apparently, the microalbuminuria means the kidneys are leaking, which

Is HE always inevitable with severe chronic liver disease?
My daughter has been told there is nothing more the doctors can do for her multiple hepatic adenomas. Transplant is not an option, due to serious underlying health conditions and also total lack of fitness . She has at least 15 of these tumours taking over her liver now. She has had a resection last

B12 prescription cancelled by pharmacist
Hello - I was diagnosed with B12 deficiency around 15 years ago. My GP at the time said that I had Pernicious Anaemia and was unable to absorb B12 from my food. Apart from a gap in 2016 when my then GP said that I had too much B12 in my system, withdrew the injections for a year which resulted in my

overlap RA, medication?
I was Dx with overlap rheumatoid arthritis. I have had PBC for 15 years, controlled well by URSO. In terms of RA, rheumatologist says this really limits medications given so many of the standard RA medications can damage the liver. For now I am on steroids. Can anyone else in the PBC community speak

Well, made contact with surgery ( I was 10th in the queue ) couldn't talk to anyone ( GP or Pharmacist ). Left a message and a return phone call a few hours later told me to take 2 blood pressure readings am and pm. for the next 7 days. Excellent stalling practice ! So, I've decided on a more aggressive

A quick update for those that remember my recent posts about the Ablation complications!
Ablation 16/3, artery got damaged, 3 outpatient appointments, 2 failed attempts at thrombin infusion under ultrasound, emergency 3 day admission to hospital with emergency pseudoaneurysm and arteriovenous fistula repair (pretty major surgery involving patching the damaged artery with cow veins) . Most
