Is this a lupus rash?

this is a rash on my leg it is appearing everywhere!

I've had rashes like that for a long time. Sometimes itchy, sometimes not. Then occasionally they broke out, spread, and/weeping. Anyway, eventually I saw a dermatologist who said he didn't think it was lupus skin lesions but that there was inflammation in my body breaking out. Treatment was a very greasy moisturiser daily and a medium strength equally greasy ointment with steroid. The advice was that I applied the equivalent of about the first section of my finger for each limb or body section affected (rather than just the lesion) until it subsided.

That seemed to work in a couple of weeks, now I apply the moisturiser every other day and all seems fine.

I do still have a problem with itchy scalp and bald patched for which I have a steroid lotion. Seeing him again next week.

Sorry that was so long but I know how much these 'minor' can get you down.

Thank you for you reply. I suppose it’s just another thing I’ll have to live with. The antihistamines seemed to have calmed it down.

It might be folliculitis, but the the dermatologist would have said 🤔

It could be urticaria vasculitis which is very similar to lupus. I have both. Good that it has calmed down with antihistamines. It is helpful to see if something specific has triggered the rash/hive attack. Heat, cold or damp and etc. Hope it is a one off situation for you as chronic case is so distracting and horrible to live with. Take care.
