Trying to make sense of thyroid ultrasound
Hello everyone 👋🏻 I went for a thyroid ultrasound scan this morning. I explained to the doctor what I've been through the last few months, that I have TPO antibodies, thyroid hormones fluctuating etc. finally I found someone who knew what Hashimotos is! But, he's not an endocrinologist so I'm guessing

Update
Hi, saw GP yesterday, bloods confirmed what he expected. He was so helpful and spent half an hour talking about PMR, tapering, adrenals etc. He really cared. I see him again in a month, with blood tests before. He's also writing to rheumy to update him. Pain under control, vertigo not good and sleep

I’m about to start b12 injections alternate days for two weeks then every 3 months. I appreciate this isn’t enough for neurological problems which I have. Should I ask for blood tests for folic acid before I start and then take every day .. and for how long? I’m not going down the path of SI for lots

Worried
Thursday evening I started to get palpitations, they were mild to what I’ve had before so I (stupidly) didn’t go to hospital. They subsided after 2 hours but my heart continued racing over 100bpm so after a few more hours I went to a&e. They did an ecg and hooked me up to fluids and gave me a dose of

Lump in pelvic area & elevated CA125 - but non urgent referral - should I be pushing this?
Hi everyone! I was hoping for some advice or shared experiences. About 3/4 weeks ago I noticed a lump/ mass in my pelvic area on left hand side. It’s definitely internal (not a surface type lump), it’s hard, about the size of a large marble, immovable, I occasionally get some sharp tweaks/ pain - but

Private Rheumatology appointment
After waiting months for an appointment on NHS I've decided to go privately. This is a lot of money for me and so am really keen to get the most out of it. Half an hour doesn't seem anywhere near the time I'd need to explain all of my symptoms amd get some answers. I'm certain I have Lupus or Sjogrens

updated iron results - best next steps?
Hey everyone, I had some great advice on here a couple of weeks ago. I just had a full blood test completed (given the RLS had gotten significantly worse recently) and my iron results came back low: Iron 14.3 umol/L (Range: 10 - 30) TIBC 54.2 umol/L (Range: 45 - 81) UIBC 39.9 umol/L (Range: 12 -

Lost and Confused
Since my Heart attack on Dec 4th 2022 when I was given 3 stents I have been to A&E three times with distressing symptoms. Each time I have to sit in a corridor for at least Seven hours to have 2 blood tests. They show no rising in my levels that held a 7. So I am told to leave and find my own way home

Awaiting phone call from GP
Hi friends I get so much sound advice from this group and your help is invaluable. As I have already posted I was diagnosed with Cirhossis following a routine blood test and a fibroscan (17kpa)as the results of the blood test showed many abnormalities. I am on 6 monthly reviews with the consultant

High LFT results
I had my first 6 month appointment with my liver nurse last week. As part of the review I had a routine bloody test for LFT. My previous blood test was on the 14th Dec 23 and my numbers were gradually reducing. I just had the results this morning and pretty much all my levels have increased including

palpitations and cold
hi all, newbie here. I was diagnosed under active 4 yrs ago. No symptoms but it was picked up in a blood test. 4 years on and have been suffering palpitations for around 16 months. All heart related tests are normal so it’s been put down to the 75mg meds daily. It really can be debilitating at times.

Ivf abroad-were to do the pre op tests in Uk?
I am planning to have my first IVF procedure in Prague next month. I had an email from them with some blood tests required and a letter from my GP/specialist to confirm that I am fit for surgery however my GP said they’re unable to help. I will contact the clinic to see if there’s anyway I can get that
