Hi, saw GP yesterday, bloods confirmed what he expected. He was so helpful and spent half an hour talking about PMR, tapering, adrenals etc. He really cared. I see him again in a month, with blood tests before. He's also writing to rheumy to update him. Pain under control, vertigo not good and sleep not really happening. Thank you all for your advice and encouragement. Mentioned this site to GP which he immediately looked up and was suitably impressed!

Good to hear - a sensible GP and nice to hear he liked the forum -hopefully he will pass that on to other patients and his colleagues.

Yes I hope so. He talked a lot about what he regards as the danger zone, getting below 10mg and adrenals not kicking in. Said it was vital to get this right.

It certainly does and he really seemed to care, about me and not just my symptoms. At the moment he's booking my next appointment with him directly for continuity, which is something I've not seen done there for many years. Long may it continue. Not having a good day today, head not good so I'm taking it very easy.

My gosh, I did not know that GPs like that actually existed!!

Funny thing is, he's never struck me as an approachable person and not a doctor I have seen much. I think that may change in the future! He was complaining about NHS and the length of time it gets for a biopsy for GCA.
