I have FH and been on statins 25 years. Am under Endocrinology as they were also looking at my thyroid. hair falling down- looking for similar experiences
hi all , I hope you’re well and keeping strong on your journeys xx My hair has started falling down more than normal within the last month or so, this follows an ivf treatment in May, which ended as MMC at the end of June. I’m looking for similar experiences to check whether this could be just a normal

Ascites Long Term
Hello All, I've had Ascites now for eighteen months. At first I confused the symptoms with a hernia that I had which has since been repaired. After a visit to my GP, he told me I had IBS and gave me some pills to alleviate that. Two weeks later I was back at the GP's. This time he examined me and said

Where do I even start
I'm hoping finding this community can help me just find where to start with this situation. No matter what I do or what doctor I go to no one seems to be taking me seriously. For some background, I was diagnosed with NAFLD earlier this year. The whole situation was frustrating in and of itself, and

Referred to private Endo - London; advice and recommendations please
Hi all, I have just been referred by the GP to an Endo. I was hoping that someone could privately DM me with recommendations for private endos in central London. I am also wondering whether I could be suffering from Hashimotos hyperthyroid flare ups: To recap; I have hashimotos, and had a hemithyroidectomy

HRT and waiting for scans
Earlier this year in March, I saw my GP to ask about HRT, so blood works were done and anomalies found so went for an ultrasound and found to have Fatty liver and hepatic hemangioma. I'm now waiting for a fibroscsn in December and I'm worried and scared. To help myself I've stopped alcohol completely

My A Fib story
I was only diagnosed recently but here goes. About 2 1/2 years ago I had a major dizzy spell while at work. It was actually like the walls were melting. First Aider was called, I didn’t look at all well so they grabbed the Defib and called an Ambulance. I went to A&E and they said it was either

Brother's numbers since ADT plus Orchiectomey since diagnosed in February
Hi folks. I've been reading daily posts here since February when my brother was diagnosed with metastatic PC in February after a reading of 367.8 PSA. Thanks for all the good information! Cancer is in his skull, ribs, lymth nodes, and spine. He had one ADT injection right away and opted for an Orchiectomey

Alternatives to steroids for PMR
Hi, I am still awaiting diagnosis for what to me is almost certainly PMR. My GP seems happy to let me take a vast cocktail of other pills but won't prescribe steroids not least because amazingly my CRP and ESR tests came in normal. So I'm on Naproxen and paracetamol (two of each at a time), one amitriptyline

Ferritin
I have just had an Advanced Thyroid Test from Medichecks. My Free T4 and Free T3 may look good but I have been getting a return of my symptoms so have upped my NDT from 2.5 grains to 3. It is my ferritin which I am not happy about. Is it too low? I eat very little red meat which is probably why it is

Positive TB blood test
I had a TB blood test due to having lumps in my neck , night sweats , weight loss and extreme fatigue but no cough. It came back positive , i now have to wait 6 weeks to be seen at the TB clinic to find out if its latent or active. Has anyone else been in this situation and if so what was your diagnosis

Has anyone had fluid retention in legs and feet when increasing dose?
My last dose increase of Armour, up to 2.5 grains a day, coincided with the start of the heatwave in earlier summer. My feet swelled up, they look like puffa fish on top. All I can comfortably wear is flip-flops! I put it down to the heatwave. Well that's way in the past now and my feet are still

Oestradial HRT & the thyroid, Lenzetto blood tests
I just wondered if low oestradial affects the thyroid? I have been on HRT since March and my level is still only 197 pmol/L. I use 3 sprays of Lenzetto. I wondered if it could be affecting my thyroid function? I don’t have menopause symptoms, I had bottom of range testosterone, but this is now in range
