Thursday evening I started to get palpitations, they were mild to what I’ve had before so I (stupidly) didn’t go to hospital. They subsided after 2 hours but my heart continued racing over 100bpm so after a few more hours I went to a&e. They did an ecg and hooked me up to fluids and gave me a dose of antibiotics. They were concerned I was sceptic due to having chills and a fever. All blood tests and chest X-ray came back clear so I was sent home when levels dropped under 100. As soon as I got home, everything came back including the racing heart. Doctor had suggested I was fighting off a virus so I put it down to the flu - I then spent all day Friday and Saturday unable to move, barely able to eat anything.

Finally I feel like I’m coming back to normal but this morning my blood pressure dropped to 69/51 and I felt dreadful again. I also woke up to feelings of my hands and feet being super sensitive and more red (they’re not swollen though). I’ve just lay down for bed and my feet are so hot. I am someone who is always cold.

I don’t know whether I should be concerned or if I’m just being paranoid

I have an AP fontan and recurrent SVT

Did you call 111? How are you now ?

I’d called 111 when I had the palpitations and they advised to go to hospital. I knew they’d only recommend me going back again but to be honest the hospital didn’t really know how to handle my condition, as lovely and attentive as they were. I’ve called my GP for an appointment and will flag this with my specialist too

This weekend was the worst night sweats I’ve ever had. I had to change my bed and myself numerous times throughout the night
