I was due to have an operation on my foot on Tuesday. Have had the pre op and it was identified that my platelets are low as are my white cells. They said they would order up platelets. Upshot is the condition of my sleen which is enlarged has been an issue from day 1. I understand that this is a feature

Help, Newly diagnosed with hiatus hernia
I have suffering from acid reflux for 15 years and I had many different anti acid tablets. Sometimes when it’s gets better, I don’t take them everyday. These past 3 months my acid reflux was really flaring up I’ve had an endoscopy beginning of July21 and been diagnosed with a 2cm sliding hiatal hernia

Help with ibs symptoms
Hi, I have just been diagnosed with ibs after 3 years of pain. Had countless tests, the most recent being a defecating proctogram, this showed up a full circumferential inussuception, rectocele & entrocele. I’ve also had a capsule endoscopy which showed all the markers still in my left small bowel.

Abdominal muscle spasms
I began experiencing upper abdominal muscle spasms about 5 days ago along with stomach gurgling. Has anyone else experienced this? I had a colonoscopy in March and an upper endoscopy at the end of April- no negative findings in either.

Crohn's or lupus?
Hello -- I'm wondering if anyone has a similar experience to me? I've had symptoms of real joint pain, severe intestinal pain & fatigue for about ten years or more. Five years ago I was diagnosed with Crohn's, eventually. My symptoms are odd: pain and tiredness, not bowel problems. I was never really

Ct scan or colonoscopy ???
I am 21 and have really bad bloating for little more of a year now. Where I can only eat small proportions of food before I get super full. My whole life, my digestion system have been normal. Now it seems slow with more constipation and loose stool. My abdomen also looks swollen from the build up. Doctors

Getting there...
Hello lovely people, I thought I would come share a positive post. I have an appointment for my endoscopy and colonoscopy next Wednesday. I'm so relieved I'm going to be able to stop eating wheat/gluten! Nervous about the colonoscopy. Embarrassing or wha. Also the prep sounds awful. The nurse told me

Spleen and Liver pain
Hi All. My apologies up front for a long message. I really need some help and advice. For those who remember my story a while back about my teenage son and him shooting a laser in his eye last year. At the time he was legally blind in his left eye. I started drinking again in September. He was living

Variciles
Well tomorrow I will be in hospital again for my 18th endoscopy in just over 2.5 years. So far I have had over 70 variciles banded. Last time, 6 months ago, they actually didn't find any, so fingers crossed that tomorrow will be the same x

Letter from Hep Consultant PBC
Hi received my letter from the consultant - Primary Biliary Cirrosis! instead of Primary Biliary Cholangitis. I was horrified to find the name changed in 2016 and not sure I have much faith in his approach. At no point does it mention Cholangitis, I have a Fib4 score of 5.34 no idea what that means.

Tests tests tests!
After ending up in a&e with chest pains in April I've certainly had a full service and MOT from the brilliant NHS. Feeling really positive so far - heart ct scan didn't find anything wrong with my heart but picked up something in my oesophagus which meant I had an endoscopy. That picked up a tiny hiatus

Gastritis improvement with injections
I am curious if those with gastritis have found it improved after injections. I had an endoscopy last year, after monthly injections were started, which showed moderate gastritis. This year, the endoscopy showed marked improvement, along with better bowel movements and less intestinal cramping. The

My wife has been discharged from hospital
I must firstly say a big thank you to all that have replied to my last posts. My meeting with the consultants was unimpressive as they were basically trying to cover their arses. The gastroenterologist didn't really remember my wife's history of numerous bleeds, blamed the on duty surgeon for not doing
