LCHF Advice
I have just been reading more about this diet plan, when I googled it the first site is Diabetes UK. My question is, is this diet aimed more at people with diabetes? I don’t have diabetes so would this diet be suitable for me or would I be better with the 5.2 diet Thanks

Dramatic Recovery In Parkinson’s Patient with Gluten Free Diet
Anyone tried this? Could gluten's toxicity extend to the nervous system, producing symptoms identical to classical Parkinson's disease? A remarkable case study adds to a growing body of research indicating that wheat's neurotoxicity is greatly underestimated. A remarkable case report describing the dramatic

Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad 🥗 🥘🍗
This was tonight’s dinner when I went out. Really fantastic taste and very low carb high protein.😀👍👍 It has 12 total carbs. for the entire salad. Also, it’s gluten free since there’s no croutons in it.😀👍

Intermittent Fasting and Keto: The Pros and Cons
Intermittent fasting (IF) and ketogenic diets are all the rage now. They both promote fat burning. But how well do these two approaches combine? Ketogenic diets promote fat burning by restricting carbs, which forces you to rely more on dietary fat. IF restricts all calories for a large part of the day

GP Limits Levo to 50mcg
Good morning everyone, My new test results have come back 'Normal' but are causing me some worry. Since I began taking Levothyroxine in November, current results show the following changes: TSH has changed from 5.19 to 0.99 (0.10-5.00) and T4 has increased from 11 to 12 (12-23). T3 was only tested

Quick question
Before being diagnosed with AIH I had an ultrasound scan which showed gall stones and a lesion on my liver, I then had a MRI scan, apparently the lesion was 'benign looking'. Does the lesion mean I have scarring on my liver?

IBS, Hashimotos, & gluten free
Hi everyone, for a number of years I suffered with what seemed to be IBS, however the symptoms disappeared around the time I started with what In hind sight were Thyroid symptoms i.e. constipation (and more) - I was thinking, is it possible that the IBS symptoms disappeared because my bowels had slowed

SeHCAT Test
Not having an easy time and phoned doctor and ended up getting a callback from unknown emergency doc. I mentioned my SeHCAT test for Bile Acid Malabsorption regrading that I wasn't sure of the results. He told me that my bile salts aren't absorbing properly but could't tell me much more. Any advice?

while discussion about take Light beer for diabetes people Please looks at this picture how much carbs
The numbers are the grams of carbs in one 12 oz. bottle of beer (355 ml). There are huge differences between different brands, but most contain too many carbs to fit a keto diet. Even on a more liberal low-carb diet it might be wise to keep beer drinking as an occasional thing.

Coeliac still showing symptoms
Hi all, I was recently diagnosed with coeliac disease after having a short period of stomach pains and discomfort that would come on after eating meals. Between my initial visit to the doctor and the endoscopy (which confirmed coeliac disease) the pains I was having had totally disappeared despite me

Diabetes
I realise this is the weight-loss forum, but diabetes and obesity are inextricably linked, and we seem to have had quite a few posts on the subject lately. I was unable to respond to lucigret's tag on a closed thread, so herewith a few thoughts on the subject. 1) Back when my mum was a ward sister,

Gallbladder related Discomfort in upper back before and after eating
Hi. Earlier this year I had a stay in hospital due to having a gallstone stuck in the bile duct and having an infection. I had an ERP procedure but looks like it passed itself. I was alright for a while but I’m now experiencing a strange uncomfortable sensation in my upper back before and after eating

To eat or not to eat?
Interesting stuff came out of my post on calories, particularly from those posters who are near their goal weight but just can't quite get where they want to be. I was pondering on all this, because I'm pretty certain artificial caloric restriction and/or extensive fasting can't be the answer. Yes, it'll

I am rigidity- dominant PD ; My personal experience!
I am rigidity -dominant PD and like other PwPD my main issues arise when imbalances between Acetylcholine and Dopamine and other neurotransmitters occur. I think we are either Dopamine- dominant or Acetylcholine- dominant( my case) PD. 📍📍Note: The DaTSCAN image doesn't belong to me and that's for
