I have just been reading more about this diet plan, when I googled it the first site is Diabetes UK. My question is, is this diet aimed more at people with diabetes?
I don’t have diabetes so would this diet be suitable for me or would I be better with the 5.2 diet
Thanks

Me and my hubby do this diet and we're not diabetic. It's for anyone who wants to eat healthy and lose weight in the process. Out of all the diets we've done, this is the best. In fact it's a new lifestyle not a diet. Wishing you all the best with whatever you choose to do. 💓
Quite a few on here combine low carb with various types of intermittent fasting (helped massively by LCHF stopping slavery to hunger and snacking!) So perhaps a combination will work for you?
LCHF is just a healthy-eating lifestyle. Because it's inherently healthy, you'll lose weight and reduce your risk of chronic diseases like diabetes. Diabetics can and do reverse their condition with LCHF (usually in its more extreme "keto" variant) but that doesn't mean it's only for diabetics.
Prevention is better than cure!
As others have mentioned, you will most likely drop into a routine of fewer meals when you try LCHF, without any conscious intent to do so. In fact 5:2 is both hard to stick to and not particularly effective if you attempt it on a high-carb diet.
I don't deal with weight problems or diabetes either, but I started out with gluten free out of desperation to get arthritis pain under control, which it did. But the more I read about the detrimental effects of wheat specifically and carbs in general, I just went straight into LCHF, particularly after reading Amy Berger's book Alzheimer's Antidote. (Others- Wheat Belly and Undoctored by Wm Davis, and Grain Brain by Perlmutter.) It's looking like carbs can wreck your health in innumerable ways! There are lots of reasons to avoid carbs, but it does seem most people who go this way are trying to lose weight and/or are dealing with diabetes. LCHF can surely help anyone!
