Before being diagnosed with AIH I had an ultrasound scan which showed gall stones and a lesion on my liver, I then had a MRI scan, apparently the lesion was 'benign looking'. Does the lesion mean I have scarring on my liver?

Hi,

There are different benign lesions that can grow on the liver, here is a link to our publication 'Benign tumours and cystic disease of the liver'

We would suggest that you consider speaking with your doctor and asking for more clarification regarding what lesion this is and to establish if any scarring was reported.

Best wishes

Hi tray,

That sounds like a really good question for your doctor.

I do know that different things often have a "look" to them that the experts go by.

Good luck,

Mary
