Free Meningitis Journal and Guide - if your child has had meningitis this resource is for you.
We know that when families are told that their child is well enough to return home after being hospitalised by meningitis, they are so relieved they don’t look back. But what might not be obvious at the time is the long term effect meningitis can have on a child’s development. That’s why we have created

Ongoing head pain 11 months post Bacterial Meningitis - Cooling cap helps
I had bacterial meningitis, pneumonia and pleurisy back in March 2013. I was misdiagnosed and given the wrong antibiotics, so my pneumonia and pleurisy were cleared up, but the meningitis raged on. I was in severe pain for over 7 months, unable to walk, or bear daylight, unable to read, watch TV, use

I am sorry to whine, but my body is not doing well. My legs and feet hurt. My arms, elbows, hands are really aching. And I am exhausted.
I have taken mtx and plaquenil since October,2013. At what point does the doctor decide these aren't working and give me something else? I was taking an nsaid also, but I retained water and also heard that mtx and nsaids don't mix well, so I stopped. Is this a flare up or just the nature of RA? Help

My little toe on left foot is very red, swollen and itchy/sore. Friends think it may be a chilblain, driving me mad!
No other toes are affected and it does not respond to athlete's foot cream.

Not wishing to panic anyone, but a recent study found that if you had shingles under the age of 40, your risk of stroke and heart attack increases dramatically. This is especially pertinent as our recent online poll showed that 38% of people with APS had suffered shingles. The main thing you can do is

Post viral Meningitis
Just recovering from Viral Meningitis, and amazed at how little help, and information that is available. Have been left with severe headaches, balance problems, and the feeling of " Drunkeness " most of the time. Are these symptons normal ? as I am sure my doctors and family think that I am exaggerating

Hey everyone, over the last 48 hours I seem to have developed the worst croaky voice, in fact I've nearly lost my voice. I have no sore throat or cold symptoms. Does anyone know if it's OK to take codeine whilst on prednisolone?
My GP prescribed codeine/paracetamol when I first had my PMR symptoms as he didn't want me to start on steroids. He eventually changed his mind when the painkillers barely touched the pain. I still have them and was thinking of taking one or two when I have bad days such as when I reduce the pred. I
