I've been suffering with muscle and joint pain for a few weeks which is down to a viral infection and has been treated in hospital. The doctors I have seen have said that NSAIDS would be best for treating this which I can't take so have been on co-codamol for this time. This is now causing problems with

Fibromyalgia? and more tests
Well, saw a fourth GP yesterday. My first GP who'd sent me to the neuro has left, the second was a guy who clearly didn't care and told me all my tests were 'clear' and when I looked at the screen and asked why one was 'flagged' he said 'oh yes, your vitamin D is low', the third just sent me away with

Ridged nails - dermatologist diagnosis
Dermatologist said my nail condition was washboard nails also known as fungal paronychia, but looking at the images for each of these shows a different type of effect on the nails. Mine resembles the washboard images which is due to picking at the cuticles, which I do. The fungal paronychia is due to

CKD3a
Hi, I know how you feel. I went to see a consultant for another problem and was told that I have developed CKD3a and that my kidneys were functioning at 56%. I was shocked to say the least as had no symptoms, no family history, normal blood pressure and no diabetes in the family either. Turned out

New research : News type of NSAIds
It was brought to my attention there has been a total new development on NAIDS. An article appeared in Australia in which was mentioned a masking medication, making organs invisible to the immune system protecting them from anti bodies. I have not found the article yet. Has anyone read it and if so can

Had RD 20 yrs. also PMR 1yr. Rheumy said RD in remission but in a lot of pain especially in morning.
I am currently on Prednisolone for the PMR and rheumy won't up it. I have just read about delay release Lodotra, has anyone been prescribed this and if so has it helped with the awful morning pain. Can hardly move. I can no longer take NSAID,s due to duodenal ulcer because of long term usage. My ESR

Lysine/Herpes(Cold sores) and RA
I was wondering if anyone has tried Lysine supplements for their RA? I came across a website (search David W Gregg and Rheumatoid arthritis) in which he gives a theory that RA is somehow related to the herpes/cold sore virus and he gives details of patients who took lysine which made their symptoms better

A word of caution about stopping Omeprazole if you take NSAIDs
Having read several times that Omeprazole affected the absorption of thyroid medication, I stopped it some weeks ago. After a while, I started getting breathless with burning pains across my back and down the centre of my front, at first intermittent and then all the time. I felt awful and even thought

Stomach ulcers
I am so worried and I feel this site is the only place to turn to for information and advice. I have been suffering with an extreme burning sensation in my stomach since August. I have been given Omeprazole by the doctor but it still persists. Today I underwent a Gastroscopy and was given the results

LDN - has anyone here used it?
Hi Everyone....Remember me? I am the one on 360-450 mcg of T3 and still severely hypo. So I came across an article on Lyme disease; it stated that the inflammation caused by Lyme's can block or downregulate T3 receptors. Not saying that I have Lyme (although it has been suggested that I check) but rather
