Arm Pain
About 8 months ago I was hospitalized for asthma. The nurse gave me a Celestone shot in my left arm. It has been swollen and hurting since then. Went to GP he sent me to orthopedic doctor who xrayed and found nothing. Went to chiropractor and got a little relief but still in pain. Due to asthma

"I had an autoimmune disease. Then the disease had me."
This New Yorker article from a few years ago showed up in my inbox today. Some may have seen it already but, like me, may enjoy revisiting it. It may be new for others. A Hashimoto's sufferer, she writes eloquently and insightfully about life with autoimmune disease. Apparently, she has since been

Memory Loss Post 2 Year Meningitis
I was diagnosed with viral meningitis in Oct 2014. In hospital for 3 nights. I've only had 1 or 2 follow up appointments since. I had a lingering headache that occurred almost every day for a year. These have subsided unless I have nights with little sleep Now I'm starting to find myself forgetting

Lupus? What can I do for pain relief?
After complaining of fatigue, joint pain and regular elevated temperatures, my GP sent me for bloodwork in early January that showed an ANA of 1:160 speckled and an anti-dsDNA of 10 IU/ml (>9 positive). She also mentioned my CRP, while still in normal range, doubled in the last three months. She referred

Dangers of pain medication. Doesn't help extreme pain in my experience.
Hi there. I've seen a lot of people getting upset about severe pain and not getting enough pain medication. I suffer from extreme and debilitating neuropathy. Mainly consisting of intense burning, stabbing and electric shock feelings in the hands, forearms and feet. I was on strong pain relief for far

Hello everyone, I am trying hard to get off pain meds.Have read a lot about research stating that Turmeric is actually more effective for painrelief than Nsaids. Is there anyone here who has successfully weaned off (or tried to) pain meds with turmeric golden paste? Thankful for thoughts😊

Viral Meningitis from West Nile
I'm new to this group, and am so happy I found this site. I had VM from West Nile 17 months ago, and even though I am so much better I still have fatigue, headaches, fuzzy head, confusion, memory problems, etc., enough so that I have been unable to return to work. I am in the US, and have not been able

APS and vaccines
I just read an article that swears APS is linked to the tetanus vaccine. Is this true or a conspiracy theory?

So this is remission
My rheumy tells me that my sero negative ra is in remission. Aside from occasional NSAIDs and a course of prednisolone only ever taken hydroxychloroquine 400mg. I thought remission meant an absence of symptoms but the morning stiffness is still there, pain crops up in random joints and I feel tired

Methotrexate and painkillers
So my regular methotrexate query for those with more experience - I'm struggling a bit this evening with really painful tendons/joints especially in my hips and elbows. It's that really annoying pain where no matter what you do you just can't get comfortable and my shoulders are quite sharp pain. I don't

Aspirin
This post is prompted by a new study [B6]. I use NSAIDs maybe once or twice a year, in a bad year. I have never been tempted by prophylactic use of aspirin - even low-dose. Aspirin has been around for well over a century (since 1899), so never needed U.S. FDA approval. Some say that if it were a new
