Starting treatment
Hello everyone, I've been on W&W Since Jan 2020. Two weeks ago at my consultation my consultant said its time for treatment, that week I had a CT scan, blood tests and an echo heart test. My next step I assumed would be a meeting regarding my treatment, however she called today to say I need a pet

Carbs and PMR
I've seen a lot of posts stating the necessity of eliminating carbs from one's diet. Does this mean all carbs, or the simple ones? So many healthy foods are also carbs and make up the majority of my diet - fruits, veggies, whole grains. When I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes I made some dietary changes

I am better!
Dear Dorset Lady, I developed PMR at New Year 2020. I was put on 15 mg Pred and I have 'stuck to the script' since then. I was warned that I was border line diabetes when I started on the Pred and sure enough, I soon became diabetic, probably because of the steroids. I also had AF (Atrial Fibrillation

Possible shin splints?
My left shin...the outer side...feels like a lot of pressure in it. No pain, just pressure. It's worse when I'm standing still, not as bad walking about. If I flex my foot up, I really feel it. It goes from where my foot meets my leg, up towards my knee. Any ideas what it could be?

A NEW COMBINED DRUG PSMA-DOC HAS BEEN CREATED FOR THE TREATMENT OF PROSTATE CANCER!
Russian scientists have managed to bind the PSMA ligand to the well-known chemotherapeutic drug Docetaxel for targeted delivery of plant venom to malignant cells with PSMA protein on its surface. The expected therapeutic efficacy is more than 80% at a dose of Docetaxel 30 mg/kg. It was also found that

Delayed neuropathy after chemotherapy?
My last chemo (Taxel / Carbo) was 6 weeks ago. Two days ago I felt neuropathy in my left leg. Now it involves both legs (below knees): shooting pain, numbness and pins and needles sensation. Also the ankles have become painful as well. I never experienced such severe and wide spread neuropathy during

Ambroxol
Would anyone share if you have participated in a clinical trial using the drug Ambroxol for PD? There have been several clinical trials which have published encouraging resusts, mostly in the UK. I am not formally in a trial but have been duplicating the dosage for about 12 months. My experience is favorable

High Blood Pressure and Secondary Therapy
I may need to supplement Lupron with one of the secondary drugs. I see that virtually all of them can cause high blood pressure, especially Zytiga, which is taken with a low dosage of Prednisone. I already have high blood pressure that is under really good control, without using a Beta Blocker. I prefer

Trial of Deferiprone in Parkinson’s Disease (Iron Chelation) Complete: Looks like it made PD worse...
So they completed the Deferiprone trial. I had not heard of the trial, but I had thought iron chelation could be a good avenue to pursue. Maybe iron chelation is still a good avenue, but it looks like this Deferiprone trial was worse than not effective. Sad to say but it looks like the placebo group
