Back in Jan of 2022 thought I had a uti went to dr. And after 6 months and multiple rounds of antibiotics no relief. I made appointment with a urologist to see if it could possibly be stones, he sent me for catscan no stones. Went back to my regular Dr. And she put me on a round of steroids didn't work. But the pain has gotten worse as time goes by. My Dr. Sent me to a eurogynocologist she put a camera in my bladder and saw nothing she told me I had a weak pelvic floor and to do therapy. I start therapy on July 3rd . I really don't think this is gonna work. I am type 2 diabetic and was thinking could it be a type of neuropathy. Or maybe a nerve broblem. Or even bladder pain syndrome. I haven't really slept in months this is affecting my everyday life and sex is not even an option cause the pain is so bad. Who should I see next to help get some type of relief or answers...

sorry to hear this, based on my experience can i suggest seeing a urologist specialising in women’s health or even ideally a gynaecologist- urologist specialist (who is qualified in both fields) as there are lots of options, tests, treatments the gp won’t know about, and lots of research still emerging hence why the gynae-urologist might be helpful.

Women in perimenopuase and menopause often have problems with utis due to changing oestrogen (not always detected particularly in they are low grade or embedded in the balder wall) and which can be helped with topical oestrogen , or even specialist medication to stop involuntary bladder spams (this can as use similar pain to uti).

Might also be searching the website of the interstitial cystitis organisation of America as they have lots of info. Best of luck 🙏

Hi there, hard to know what it may be definitively from your description, but if it's bladder pain syndrome, you could try a few things. 1) diet modification (avoiding caffeine, chocolate, citrus foods, alcohol). 2) find yourself a good gynae physio. 3) look at reducing your stress levels. I have this condition and have found good relief most of the time from concentrating on these things.

Bladder neuropathy from diabetes isn't common and usually affects bladder control rather than pain.

No fun at all having so much pain, so I really hope things improve for you soon.

I've had a really similar experience to this. Pelvic floor physical therapy can definitely help. I went through pelvic floor PT for my pelvic pain. That, dietary restrictions, and natural pain relief helped me a lot. For pain relief, I recommend application of Smith's Amish Arthritis cream or a similar product based on ingredients - mix it with calendula oil and apply to the abdominal/pelvic region. It took me almost a year to find a product that really helped. Also I took ginger and oregano oil supplements daily which are antimicrobial, antibacterial and antiviral and which also seemed to help with pain. Take probiotics with them to replenish natural bacteria. And really important is researching interstitial cystits, looking at the list of food and drink that can aggravate bladder pain and figuring out which items are triggers for your pelvic pain. For me it's soda, alcohol, basically anything with seasoning or spices - especially chips, and citrus type drinks, as well as strawberries.

I think you need to see a neurologist as this all might be due to a damaged pudendal nerve in your pelvis.

PT is a good place to start, Go to a PT who specializes in pelvic pain and who does internal work.

Do you have any metal clips or mesh in your pelvis from a previous surgery? They can migrate to the bladder and cause problems.

Don’t drink any sodas or bubbly water. The excess gas upsets your bladder. Avoid alcohol to.

Thank u for responding . I don't have any mesh or any metal in my pelvic area. I was thinking the same thing it has to be a nerve
