Stronger than you know
I've been following #c25k posts for various challenges I've faced along the 8 week journey. I've just completed Week 7 Day 1 #W7D1. I've found every single day daunting since Week 5 Day 2. Until then every run had rests, from W7D1 there are NO rests. So I put it off for 5 days. Sometimes I need

Bradycardia and Sleep Apnea
This afternoon when I went to a short nap while feeling fatigued and my heart was very slow around 50 bpm, shortly the heart rate alarm woke me up as my heart rate drooped to 45 bpm within a few minutes after I drifted to sleep. This happens to me everyday since 4 years now. I tried CPAP but it didn't

Air hunger now a serious problem now on oxygen!!
For the past year I've been getting more and more breathless. I ended up in hospital with suspected heart failure, but the cardiologist said my heart wasn't too bad for my age of 74 years. Waiting for pulmonary tests and to see a neurologist. I am on 20mcu T3 and 125mcu T4 . Same dose for over 10

COPD and CPAP
I have a question relating to CPAP use and COPD. If you use a CPAP, I would like to know if you feel it is helping you with your COPD and day-time breathing and satuaration levels? Do you feel there is any relationship between the two:? If you were anxious about using the CPAP, how did you get over

The CPAP machine makes my daytime breathlessness worse
Hi everyone. I've been using the CPAP machine, with oxygen attached, for just over a week. So far so good. I have breathlessness and I'm awaiting pulmonary testing. However, I've noticed my daytime breathlessness is now much worse, so much so, that I cannot even walk a few steps without becoming

A horrible, drained feeling upon waking up from a nap.
My breathlessness started about a year ago, which I ignored and I ended up in hospital with suspected heart failure at Christmas. My doctor put me on oxygen at night which I now use in conjunction with a CPAP machine, nights only. I'm still awaiting pulmonary testing, even though the hospital cardiologist

Why am I so breathless all the time and for so long?
Can someone help me, please. I have been breathless since July, 2015. Things got bad at Christmas and I was admitted to hospital for 6 days with suspected heart failure. My blood pressure was very high and I had badly swollen ankles, legs, hands and tummy. However, the cardiologist said my heart

Living with COPD
Hi I am a 71 year old grandma. As a child I suffered with asthma and it magically disappeared when I started smoking. In those days even doctors smoked. At age 65 I began to experience alergies and shortness of breath again. This progressed to COPD. I use two inhalers Spiriva & Symbicort and are on 24

~Glory be - low then high blood pressure whilst tapering?
Any experiences on the following - much appreciated in advance. Reducing hydrocortisone a fraction further as requested by Rheumy from 15mg (equivalent to 3 mg Pred) down to 12.50mg Hydrocort which = 2.5 Pred. This is my third attempt. Less than 2 days into taper breathlessness appeared again (a feature

At the end of my tether - should I get treatment in Europe?
Hi everyone - I've found this forum and it is fabulous. Well done and thank you - and sorry for the long post. I've been dealing with so-called subclinical hypothyroidism for more than three years. It runs in my family - mum, sister and maternal grandmother all diagnosed and on full meds for years.

~What immunity have we with a reduced steroid intake for our PMR? ~
Continuing to struggle to get past 15mg Hydrocort, equivalent to 3mg Pred. As soon as I have dropped my morning dose from 7.5mg to 5mg I can confidently say that within 24 hours my legs/hips flare plus fatigue. Discomfort manageable but fatigue wears one down - told by my Rheumy that he wants me

Lupus and Sleep apnea
Please can anyone help I have been given a CPAP machine and I have tried 4 masks each keep lifting off my face, so no seal and the air pumps hard into my face, persevering but so so tired. Worried as the Lupus has damaged my right lung, could that be stopping the machine inflating my windpipe? Been so

Teenager started xolair
My daughter aged 15 started Xolair last week, 3 jabs every 2 weeks. Just wondered what people's experiences were of Xolair? She has had 18months of 5-6 weekly admissions with very brittle asthma, needing Aminophillyn and Cpap each time, which has turned her life and ours upside down so we are desperately
