Insect bite
I’ve got a bloomin’ insect bite on my ankle which has become swollen. I’ve taken an antihistamine, rubbed hydrocortisone on it and iced it for 15 mins. So annoyed as I might not be able to run for a few days 😬

the time has come - 3 years from diagnosis
It has taken me 2 weeks to be able to tell the final chapter. On the Saturday it was stormy and the palliative care helps came to give Ch a shower. Then the afternoon was visitors. We has not seen them for a long time and Ch wanted to be in the wheelchair to see them. The conversation was full of memories

Hello ALD parents, We've had some incidents with my son and I wanted to know if anyone else has been through this. My son started Hydro when he was 1 year old, he is now 2.5 and they've not changed his dosage. Well there has been two instances now where his temp increases suddenly at night which is then

Looking for Practical Help
I have now had 4 heart attacks since 2015, started at the age of 31 and a double cabg in May 2019. Since the cabg was done I have been even more ill, their last throw of the dice didn't work and I am now at 36 received palliative care for advanced heart failure. The thing I am struggling with is practical

Efudix overdose
In 2015 I was given Efudix cream for facial AKs. It worked fine and they have now gone. However I started using it on a large white mole on my forearm. I over-applied it and my whole forearm became weepy and very red and sore before I stopped it. About three days later I developed red rashes behind

You’ll never guess what I heard in the Infusion Room today! 😀
So the lady across from me today said she just started Foslodex and Zometa today. I told her I had the same. MBC. Then she proceeded to tell me her Doctor said 5-10 years barring new treatments coming out all the time. She was like I’m 64...5-10 years plus whatever...She was so positive! But seriously

The final days
It is a very long time since I have had the energy to talk with you all. I feel I must do so before Ch passes from this life. It is hard to find the words. I was tired and dejected with myself as carer, nurse, wife etc and was thinking of phoning the Social Worker with the Palliative care team when she

PMR- a plain English description
PMR is an autoimmune disorder that causes your immune system to not be able to recognise your body as "self" so it attacks cells in the blood vessels and causes inflammation (probably at least. it is almost the same as GCA but they haven't seen where the damage is in PMR). Rough and tight foreskin [DOCTOR UPDATE]
Hi I've made a post earlier about my rough, dry, and tight foreskin issue. I have visited my GP and he told me to use a moisturizing cream (QV cream) for few days and do some stretching exercises. Itching blisters on my legs
One month before my PMR onset I got these itching, aching blisters on the back of my ties. Looks like herpes but they do not go away without hydrocortisone. They are watery and comes in clusters. When I started my Pred treatment they disappeared of course. Now after weaning off they have returned.

Is this typical of a tight foreskin?
I'm having a bit of an issue and was hoping someone may be able to offer advice as to whether it is typical for a mildly tight foreskin. I believe the tight foreskin resulted from a bout of thrush caused by washing my glans with a new shower gel and irritation that followed. Could the below symptoms

Association Between Dihydrotestosterone and Long-Term Risk for PCa Mortality
New study below [1]. To skip the preamble, read below "***". Ever since Huggins discovered that castration offered palliation for men with PCa, albeit temporary, there has been a belief that testosterone [T[ acts like gasoline on a fire. A number of study papers have appeared over the past 15 years

Can anyone knit? Apologies, I know this is a running forum...
I was just reading the very sad post from Hidden and it occurred to me that some of you may be able to support a palliative care initiative that some hospitals are using. Essentially they give one heart to the patient, and the other to their loved one, as a tangible connection when they can't
