Found a Medic who was NICE and KIND to me leading to prolific tears.
A major significant day in my long and convoluted journey. A Specialist Nurse Practitioner was really nice and kind to me and was FIRST medic who actually understood what I have been through for these past few years. I was so emotional because of her kindness that the things she told me, didn’t

Ear Eczema
I keep getting an itchy weeping rash on my left ear, I also have scaly itchy skin on the inside. I went to the chemist who said it was eczema and gave me epaderm cream which has really helped. I've had allergic eczema since childhood but have never had it on my ear like this before, can't seem to find

What I wish I had known (and what I have learnt through trial and error!)
Hi everyone Another repost from a couple years ago (and bought it up 8 months ago too apparently) so apologies if you’ve already read it 😉😂. But it’s another thing that those new to asthma may find helpful, and if anyone has anything they want to add just tag in! (I think this is the last for a while

rise of bg with LCHF
I am using LCHF diet already 4 years. It worked well, but during last 2 months I have often higher bg before lunch in spite of eating the same breakfast each day. Today I have 6,9 mmol/l (125 mg/dl). Usually I have between 5,6-5,9mmol/l. What is cause of such rise of bg ? Not food but may be less

How long until I can re-introduce thyroid meds?
Hello everyone. After a long 27 months of my health getting worse and becoming deathly ill after ingesting thyroid meds, I am finally being treated with hydrocortisone for adrenal insufficiency. I am in the United States and all of the Endocrinologist’s I’ve seen really have no clue how to treat adrenal

Hi
Hi I’m new to this site. For the last few months I have developed an itchy rash after being in the sun. Then for the next few days I feel fluey, have enlarged glands, swollen knuckles and am really tired. My GP did some blood tests one of which was just called connective tissue disease, result was 0.1

Anyone not following LCHF
Is it just me? It is clear that not everyone on this site is following the same diet; there are maintainers and there are dieters following different guidelines to maintain or lose weight. Yet, I am left with the feeling that if I do not support and adhere to a LCHF diet, then I am …. I am not quite

Rucaparib, info and experiences please
I've had 4 doses of carboplatin - this knocked down my CA125 from 1190 to 90 after the third, don't know if its gone down again since my last infusion 10 days ago yet. The cancer was active in lymph nodes in the mesentery, pelvis and peritoneum; I had a CT scan after the third infusion which showed

Had surgery on June 22nd and I have stage 4 OC that doc described as aggressive
I asked doc if this a situation for palliative care and she responded that she wants to cure me. She said the OC has not invaded my bladder, but it was growing on the outside and she scraped the cancer cells off. She also examined the length of my colon and scraped off the cancer cells on the outside

End of life
Hey guys it seems as my posts here will be short and sweet as my patient has been seen by his palliative care dr and been prescribed end of life medication. It fills me with sadness to know that there is nothing else left to do, I am so glad I have met my new friend and that for the past 7 months we

Feeling rubbish! Advice please with latest tests, including vits
Hello all, hope everyone is well. I have secondary adrenal insufficiency, (ACTH deficient) and have been on hydrocortisone for 9 years. Last September I started on Levothyroxine, (25mcg initially, now 25/50 mcg on alternating days), as it appears I’m becoming TSH deficient, and was becoming increasing

Pulmonary Fibrosis, irreversible and terminal,
I was diagnosed 12 March 2020, when lung function hadn't improved after recent bacterial infection. My lungs were already, very scarred, so this infection was the tipping point. Question is, as it is a unpleasant way to die, and already discussed with my GP, palliative care, it will get more painful

Why liver patients have such a hard time
I wanted to write this last night but I fell asleep. Nothing unusual there then!!!! In the last 2-3 years I have ‘visited’ one Consultant or another about some of my symptoms. The most valuable lesson I have learned, from so doing, is that the Liver Medical fraternity themselves are unable to fully

Shorty864 - Anne has lost her last battles
Dear ladies, I am so sorry to have to let you know that Anne, my Ovacome friend from Cornwall, has passed away this Sunday, 21 of June, at her lovely home. After waging many battles, including coming on the train to London with her husband last year for a second opinion from the Royal Marsden, as well

Disappointed
Three weeks ago after discovering this site , I started on the lchf diet . I was elated when I quickly lost almost 2.3 kg . However weight loss has now skidded to a halt and to top it all I’m having trouble with constipation which is making me miserable . Anybody got any ideas ?

Is the chicken-off still going? Buffalo Wings....
I am just enjoying buffalo wings. That's fried or - in my case - baked chicken wings tossed in butter/chilli sauce, accompanied by a blue cheese dressing. Today, that is a Shropshire Stilton dressing 😋. With traditional celery and a tray of baked veggies, because if I am turning on the oven in this
