Hospital indefinitely?
Hi, my father (82), a PSP sufferer since 2014 diagnosis (Parkinsons prior to that for 3-4 years) was admitted to hospital last Tuesday and has been struggling to breathe with pneumonia. The acute infection has gone, but now his lungs are damaged and apparently, due to PSP he doesn't use them properly

Baby first teeth are molars??
I have twin boys and they are 8 weeks old. When they cry I have noticed teeth starting to come through however the teeth coming through are molars at the back of their mouths? No other teeth and i have even felt the teeth and they are 100% coming through. Is this normal??

Vaginal dryness
I have tried various moisturisers but no relief from the burning sensation. Fortunately no itching. Have had internal exam by my GP and she found nothing abnormal just looked slightly inflamed. Have started using Vagifem pessaries this week. I have had this problem for over a year I am 83. How long will

Autoimmune Gastritis - Low B12 and Pepsin in saliva
I was just diagnosed with AG (from biopsy). Next they tested my B12 - 339 so on the lower end Started b12 subling - and now B12 >2000 I also have esophageal symptoms of burning there and in my throat... Took Pepsin test and they detected Pepsin in my saliva Gastro says since there was no acid found

Prontogest injections in bum/ thigh
So I posted about this a day or so ago and had a long chat with the nurse in the clinic today so thought I would share.... The reason that some clinics recommend, in the first instance, that you inject prontogest in your bum is because that is what the manufacturers of the drug recommend. It is because

Does constipation block bugs?
I posted a few days ago after getting a bad reaction after Mexican food on Monday. I barely ate Monday and Tues as I felt off but on both days had one miserable stool. Wednesday however my appetite came back and I felt amazing. Worked out and had lunch and an hour later pure liquid diarrhea. TMI - I

Proctogram
So I've had a proctogram today, managed to keep the barrium in at the hospital, as soon as I got home I've just non stopped vomitted and the cramps are unreal, I've now got a headache due to dehydration I believe. Anybody else been through similar? What's the best way to flush it out and get hydrated

Treatment Resistance. Enzalutamide & Exenatide (synthetic exendin-4).
New cell study below [1]. Treatment resistance begins on day 1 of treatment. Cells under attack have a variety of survival strategies to fall back on. Activation of the the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway is fairly common [2]. I have long wondered why PCa drugs don't come paired with drugs to inhibit resistance

Pleurodesis?
I had a chance to speak with my doctor today for the follow-up to the thoracentesis. I was told that I am now at stable disease. I had the second thoracentesis in six weeks with another 1.1 liters pulled out. My treatment options are pretty slim as if right now. I'd never originally responded to first

Buprenorphine (sp?)
This is a paper on the use of Buprenorphine in older people rather than Oxycontin ( as some of us are) it talks about addiction-- but I prefer to see it as dependency!😩😎 May be worth talking to your pain manager about it? https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/923754 Cheers.

No obvious endo on ultra sound
I had a internal ultra sound yesterday and was told that there wasn’t anything obvious but I have all the symptoms and it runs in generations of my family (Nan, Aunties, mum. All had early hysterectomies and one sadly passed with ovarian cancer). Have any of you had nothing show on the ultra sound but

Do anyone need Hemodialysis Home Supplies?
Hi everyone, We are newly home from a liver and kidney transplant and have a large number of dialysis supplies that we no longer need. We had just ended our first week of home dialysis when we got the call for the transplant. The supplies are new and in unopened shipping boxes. I hate to see this go
