Doxycycline
New research demonstrates the anti‐dyskinetic potential of doxycycline (& its analog compound COL‐3) in a rodent model of Parkinsons; L‐DOPA was not affected by doxy or COL‐3; Doxy was also associated with decreased FosB, cyclooxygenase‐2, GFAP, & OX‐42 https://bpspubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111

Cold Sores and Rituximab
Hi Everyone Great news about the very positive effect the vaccines are having on Covid cases - onwards and upwards. Does anyone have any ideas why I have had 4 cold sores in 4 or 5 weeks? They started before my Covid vaccine so it isn't that. I had my last round of Rituximab in November 2020 after

Struggling to be positive
At home with Stage 4 NSCLC with brain mets. Palliative care only. At first I was ok just trying to make the most of each day but finding it harder and harder to do this. Thinking about how long I’ve got , how fast I’ll deteriorate and how death will be Don’t know how to lift myself out of this

Started Xtandi Today after Taxotere Finished.
Three weeks ago I had my last of 6 sessions (every 3 weeks) of Taxotere and monthly Lupron shots. Post RP PSA was 63 and now after chemo undetectable. Got back Ct scans and no Mets to chest, abdomen or pelvic area. One enlarged node shrank. Staying on Lupron and starting Xtandi. I’m taking it before

A look at the next generation of Androgen Receptor therapies--AR Degraders/PROTACS
Greetings FPC members, Recently, Cujoe the K9 Wonder asked me if ARV-110 might deserve a post and I confirmed that the next generation of AR drugs--the PROTACs / AR Degraders indeed deserve a serious look. What does one do when those second line AR drugs like abiraterone, TAK-700, enzalutamide, apalutamide

Intertrigo
I have mentioned before that I have a skin condition called Intertrigo. Skin underneath my boobs is sore & red. Currently I am using Sudocrem, after many steroid creams have been unsuccessful. I am looing for t shirt type of top with cups. I am finding the lower band of my soft bras irritates the skin

Bleeding gums
I’ve had bleeding gums on and off for years, dentist said due to ET and medication. But lately the bleeding has got a lot worse, one day I even had a couple of clots in my mouth, plus bright red blood coming from my gums around my back teeth. They’re feeling quite sore and my throat is also starting

Anyone eating Imodium like me?
Anyone eating Imodium like pez to get control of watery/oily bowel movements? I consume 4 to 6 daily and am never constipated. I’ve had a colonoscopy, dr says nothing wrong at that end. Let’s run more test that cost more money. I said no and started taking Imodium then.

Still petrified.
Thankyou so very much for the lovely replies. As expected, scan showed increase in size of nodes, so more chemo in 3weeks time. I did notice that the staff on day unit are only wearing masks, no shields, which i was surprised to see, when i was having port flush yesterday. Now i have another dilemma
