Can you take penicillin while on Imbruvica
I have been on imbruvia for 2 weeks, I had a crown on my back tooth replaced a few days ago, the dentist gave me a shot in my mouth to deaden my gums while doing some filing. My gums and that tooth has been aching a few days now it’s a Saturday so I can’t get a hold of any Dr. I know it’s an infection

Synarel and Utovlan together? - your experiences please!
Hi there, Does anyone have any experiences taking Synarel and Utovlan together. I've been on Synarel a month(along with Livial) but am still having periods. My wedding is in 3 weeks so my consultant has advised I can take Utovlan a week before to stop the bleeding on the day. I'm just a tad worried

Fluconazole
Hi all, I have well managed Hashis and I'm on 50mcg Levo. I have recurrent thrush so I've just been offered by gyno a 6 month suppression therapy with fluconazole. I wonder if any of you has had any experience with this medication? I'm very afraid it will disrupt this fine balance I've found with my

CHC fast track
Hi, we were contacted a few days ago to say my Nan has been granted fast track CHC funding to have care at home. We were extremely greatful and happy to finally have some help. The carer started yesterday and is a live in carer. But we feel really disheartened and feel my Nan’s needs won’t be met with

Association between dietary onion intake and subclinical hypothyroidism in adults: a population-based study from an iodine-replete area
What a very odd paper - which really doesn't get anywhere in terms of explanation. Nonetheless, it does raise my curiosity as to what might be happening and why. Pickled? Scallion? Raw? Cooked? Red, white or brown? [i]Endocrine. 2021 Jul 31. doi: 10.1007/s12020-021-02790-2. Online ahead of print.

Docetaxel and Options Thereafter (NHS)
Hi everyone. We were informed last week that Dad now has liver involvement as our oncologist suspected there would be as he didn't make a decision quickly enough on his next treatment when she informed him he was resistant. He has now started on Docetaxel and had his first infusion last week. The question

Oral Thrush
I'm on Mycophenolate Mofetil 2g daily, steroids, warfarin and lots of other meds. Just recently had 3 bouts of oral thrush. Nystatin clears it up but it keeps coming back. Does anyone have a similar experience and what did you do about it? (I can't take the pills for it as they interact with too many

Kidney issues post liver transplant
Hi I'm 1 year post liver transplant, but my kidneys seem to be taking a hit. My GFR is reducing at each blood test. It is now 39 and drops by about 5 every time. They've not said if it's now CKD but I'm worried as the internet says 39 is stage 3B. They have reduced my tacrolimus to 1mg twice daily,

Do medium-chain triglycerides downregulate mTOR?
I ran across some info about MCTs turning off mTOR and amping up AMPK (possibly resulting in an increase in autophagy and also lipolysis). Does anyone have any info on whether or not MCTs are potentially beneficial for prostate cancer?

Not doing enough
I am scared every day. My medication helps but I take it at night. Before lockdown I had a voluntary job which I loved but the place isn't there now. 2 days a week I helped my elderly friend and he died in 2020. I offered to cook Christmas dinner for his best friend and another person but had to cancel

Colonoscopy and moviprep
I am due to a colonoscopy this week to investigate chronic diarrhoea , no blood. Thoughts are post infectious ibs currently I see the recommendations to chill moviprep but cannot make it with cold water. How soon before taking it are you allowed to make up the solution? I want to give it a chance

Experience with Tacrolimus with or without Azathioprine
Hi all! My drs are suggesting to put me on tacrolimus alongside AZA to help with my joint pain. Has anyone been on tacrolimus? With or without AZA or another immunosuppressant? How is your experience? Anyone have any knowledge/experience of long-term tacrolimus? Also, I got told by the nurse

Has anyone used cordyceps as an adjunctive treatment for kidney disease?
Cordyceps worm mold is widely used in China to treat kidney disease, and some scientific studies indicate that it may reduce creatinine values in patients with chronic kidney disease. I have never found found much personal benefit from it. Conclusions of recent Chinese study: "Current evidence shows
