Depends what the bleeding is like- is it spotting ie only when you wipe you see it or heavy bleeding like a period? The reason I ask is I have got away with spotting in my full term pregnancies ( my grown up son and 2 year old daughter) and with 3rd child who sadly died at 20 weeks pregnant. I've also had spotting with this pregnancy where I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow, even lost a small blood clots. 3 scans have shown all is ok. Whereas when I've miscarried ( 3 early losses) it has been heavier with cramping and when the bleeding started unlike my spotting it continued didn't taper off like my spotting. Spotting is very common and midwives told me only to be concerned if I had severe abdominal pain and very heavy bleeding like filling a pad every hour or so. Bleeding doesn't always mean the end of a pregnancy but is important to get it checked over like you are doing, it is very scary. I'm sorry you are going through this and hope you are just having harmless pregnancy spotting like lots of women do and all is well with the baby. Xx

Sounds like spotting if it's not going on your pad. How sensitive are the tests that would make a huge difference at this early point. Also if you test in the early days in the day you need to try to hold your urine for 4 hours and restrict fluids that could dilate urine and not be detectable on the test- alternatively is to test with first urine of the day. Sadly no one here can tell you if you lost the baby- the scan will reveal what is going on. It's awful waiting it out but it is the only way to really know. Women can bleed and have successful pregnancies it isn't always a miscarriage. When I've had spotting before I have a scan I prepare myself for the worst but hope for the best and I think that is all you can do. It's crap. I do hope the scan goes well and puts your mind at ease. Good luck I'm rooting for you Xx
