How will I cope without meds in preparation for DBS assessment?
I am beginning the road to DBS and have my memory test things?? tomorrow. I am really worried about the assessment where I need to be off medication as I literally cannot move without meds. My problem is mainly dystonia, stiffness, rigidity but the last time I came off meds it was agony and my cramps

24 hour test of Deep Heat neck and shoulder cream
As I said somewhere yesterday I had purchased the above cream after reading on here a very informative blog about the deep heat bath soak being very good. Not finding a bath the easiest thing and as I suffer from neck and shoulder spasms very badly I decided to buy the neck and shoulder cream

Spasms of horrible pain - somewhere in right arm but can't quite locate?
Woke last night with a sore shoulder - everything on the right side these days. Thought it was RSI from stitching all day with a huge embroidery hoop - or that I'd slept in a bad angle. All day the shoulder has been twinging but nothing like flares in the first year so I've ignored it. Now it's all down

zandopa's choices?
what are the options to replace sinemet with micuna pruriens without the sugar existing in Zandopa? I discovered zandopa before DBS and I almoSt cancelled my DBS surgery (wish I had done it, because if something goes wrong surgeons have no clue about how to fix it; I got severe gait disturbances), because

Wondering how far to go with regards to having seperate cooking equipment etc?
I was diagnosed with coeliac a few weeks ago and have started out on my new gluten free diet, all going ok so far with meals. I have bought myself a new chopping board for making sandwiches and cutting bread and I am using a seperate spread. Do I need to use a seperate colander for draining pasta? I

Has anyone else?
I had been to a Tribunal and an issue of a Coeliac Professor was raised, Prognosis: Excellent if remains on a gluten free diet. Knowing I had a problem with one ingredient I avoided that but bought other gluten free foods, what can you guess happened.....bloating, weight loss, constipation and loss of

Trust your gut!
Well, it's been a while since I've posted on here, and how negative my previous posts were- thank you all, again, for your support. I'll break the news straight away- I'm officially Coeliac! Am I happy? Yes. Did the diagnosis process seem worth it? No. I'd say, ladies and gentleman, a gluten free

ITP/autoimmune disease
I am 53 now, so you can imagine not much was known when I was 6! I bruised easily and was always tired. The doctors tested my bone marrow Thinking I had leukemia. I was lucky to have an internist who found my spleen To be enlarged thus leading to the ITP diagnosis and removal of my spleen. I never

Are there any supplements I should take on a gluten free diet
Have been on a gluten free diet now for 6 months and started to feel tire a lot of the day. Still getting some symptoms although much milder of the CD. I am confident my diet is completely Gluten Free and am currently going through my tests (blood and bone scan) at the hospital but am getting people

Panic I have an appointment tomorrow morning to review FODMAPs with a dietician how can I make the most of this precious time?
I have been doing FODMAPs for about 10 weeks. Introduced some foods and surprised at what foods have affected me eg mangos, leeks and lentils. So it is a very useful ongoing exercise. I also went abroad three weeks ago kept to a gluten free diet and had no symptoms whatsover. When I returned home some

Anyone else out there diagnosed with small fibre neuropathy and a mixed connective tissue after coeliac?
Was wondering if there's any others out there with the same issues as me. It started with painful feet and hands so bad I could hardly stand for any length of time. Then the fatigue hit and upset stomachs, after 7 months and many consultants I had coeliac confirmed. After starting the gluten free

Gluten free porridge - when is it safe to try it?
Hi , I am back on a gluten free diet and can't remember if it's ok to have GF porridge or not. When I went GF last year the dietician advised me to stay off it but I really would like to have it as a breakfast option x
