Confused told today diarrhoea is because of past operations
Went to hospital today and doctor has changed my medication to colestramine and codeine. They now say my diarrhoea is down to past operations I've had the latter being a gall bladder removal which he says has made it worse. Why don't the doctors warn you before these operations that things will get worse

What are the groups views on the latest research regarding preventative treatments with tamoxifen and raloxifene?
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence says tamoxifen or raloxifene taken daily by high risk women for five years can cut breast cancer risk by 40%. May provide a treatment option besides mastectomy for women found to be genetically high risk. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-23032371

How to cope with my mom's treatment? .
Hi Guys, First of all, thanks for the forum. It was much needed. International forums help but most of the times we cant relate to their suggestions due to unavailability of most of the items in India. My mom has been diagnosed with BC (DCIS left breast and lymph nodes, 3cm tumor). Started Chemo

Hi Everyone, I wondered about tiredness - how long does it take to recover from major ops? Its been 8 months since my last one.
I had my mastectomies last year and am now back at work getting on with my life.Understandably every ache and pain or symptom becomes a question mark about cancer. So I am trying not to get anxious about this hence this question. No chemo or radiotherapy. I feel like I haven't quite got back to my old

Psychological effects of mastectomy
If anyone out there has had a mastectomy, I would be grateful for any advice re how you came to terms with the loss - of part of you, self image, fear of appearance afterwards, even with reconstruction. It feels so daunting & I don't know how to cope. I have 4 weeks before the op

please see my additional info below, it wouldn't fit in:
following full left mastectomy and lymph node removal in 2006 i have slight lymphodema in left arm. the treatments have left me with some excess weight but my left tummy area is fatter and feels "squidgy" , more like fluid than a spare tyre! could it be lympdodema?

So I had to change my rheumy appointment as I had to have an operation. It turns out I have breast cancer, and with my huge family history of breast cancer plus the type of cancer they've found in me, the surgeon is recommending a preventative bilateral mastectomy. I hope I look as good as Angelina Jolie

Question about prostap?
Also not sure if it matters but I had a laparoscopic
cystectomy
2 and a half weeks ago. I feel so weak and in so much pain with my pelvis and back. The question is is it normal to bleed badly with prostap?

Shikha's Story - Part II
Starting from where I left.... I started chemotherapy first week of April, 2008. My hair was shorter by choice to avoid the shock of losing it all at once. I have no idea of the emotions that my mom would have gone through, those of my husband, my 2 year old. The focus is at me. We read and read
