Is pain following an incision hernia repair a year ago with a mesh after a gall bladder removal normal
You've got to follow up with the surgeon again. or a GI doctor. I had mesh after a hiatal hernia. But my pain, although in the same area, predated the surgery and continues . Mine is mostly neuro muscular but triggered by foods too
I developed an umbilical hernia about the same time as my IBS started (following a gastric flu type bug) I asked the doctor if there was a connection ans he said no - I was never convinced. The pain around the mesh has continued ever since - especially when I am bloated.
Hi there
I had a hernia repair done just over 12 months ago, it actually caused me no pain before having it done but now occasionally I get a very sharp pain exactly where the op was done and this can last for a good few minutes, it's a very strange pain the only way I can describe it is as if I were being cut. It doesn't have a pattern either so it's not as if I get it after exercise or anything, it's quite random.
