following full left mastectomy and lymph node removal in 2006 i have slight lymphodema in left arm. the treatments have left me with some excess weight but my left tummy area is fatter and feels "squidgy" , more like fluid than a spare tyre! could it be lympdodema?
please see my additional info below, it wouldn't fit in: - LSN

I also have a fatter tummy and my Massage therapist starts massge me from there also has it does has a connection I have it in my left lower limb mostly and have been using Horse chestnut cream with some good results but not much.
I also have a fatter tummy since having lymphoedema but having never thought of it being connected. You are probably right - I will talk to my nurse next time I see her. If it is the case, it will make me feel much better as i keep trying to keep off the cakes but do exercise but it still keeps getting bigger. I also thought it was probably to do with my age (I am 65)
seems like there might be some sense in this to me, too - i know when i have mld the nurses do the pressing on my belly thing to get the deeper lymph nodes working, so i guess they'd be under a bit more pressure
i won't be able to get away with that as an explanation for my fat belly, though - i'm luckier than you, chrissie, as mine gets less fat if i lay off the cakes!
Hi Jeepster
following lumpectomy etc. I developed lymphoedema in left breast, now also in midriff and left side of my tummy. Pretty lopsided looking altogether!! Therapist is trying to move the lymph across to the right side duct and the midriff & belly stuff down to the left groin area.
I have been losing a bit of weight but I think I look fatter than ever. What a scunner this ailment is for everyone who has it.
