California dreaming

So W8R3 is complete. I was wide awake nice an early due to the jet lag and a 9 hour time difference so it was perfect timing for getting out there early and getting a great start to the day.

They have built excellent running / walking / cycling tracks near the hotel I stay at and I remember doing Week 4 and 5 on these tracks last August when I did the C25K the first time around.

I also remember running them back in Feb of this year and realising that after being on the IC for a few months and no running that I was probably better off just doing the whole program again.

Set off slowly on the walk with some slight trepidation as when I had arrived at LAX yesterday my right achilles tendon was giving me shooting pains occasionally but I put it down to being on a plane for 11 hours. During the warm up walk there was a couple of twinges so I was mentally making sure that i would take it nice and slow and if there was any pain to stop rather than carry on and make matters worse.

But it was fine. And it was great to run along the track seeing all the different California flowers. So much so that when I got to the return point where I had started I noticed that there is a new part of track opened that they were working on last time I was here in February. So being the curious chap that I am I thought I would go and have a look.

So what should have been a 28 minute run ended up as a 33 minute run of exactly 4km. Quite chuffed with myself.

Y'all have a nice day now.

Enjoy the journey.

Going to LA in August and would very much like to think I might do a wee 5K somewhere any suggestions of places to run would be gratefully received. Well done for achieving your 33 min run 👏🏻👏🏻
