remove ovaries or not? Confused & worried!
hi, I’m early perimenopausal at 48. I just been diagnosed with endo on my ovary and adenomyosis. I’ll try and keep this short, but after years of being on the pill with no symptoms, 10 years ago I was diagnosed with hormone oestrogen receptive breast cancer, so no contraceptive pill and 5 years of

Mirena coil and double desogestrel. Is it too much?
hi, first time posting. Short version - I currently have the coil in and my dr has just told me to double my desogestrel. Firstly, I’m worried about the safety of this? Secondly I really don’t feel I’m coping with the hormone overload. Has anybody else had this treatment before? Is it sustainable? Will

From darkness into light and almost all the way back again
I went mad in 2016. Nothing was too crazy for me. I even considered driving off a cliff. The madness was accompanied by paranoia and doubt which got very dark indeed. After several, desperate visits to my GP (who tried in vain to help) a visiting locum took one look at me and having familiarised himself

Combined Pill Worries
Hi, I started the pill 10 days ago on the first day of my period. I had my usual period, but I haven't stopped bleeding since starting the pill. Is this normal? There have been some clots in the blood, which is a dark red almost brown colour. Should I be worried???

I am so upset and don’t know where to go from here…
I went to the doctors with 3 months of pain while going for a pee, I have been on two antibiotics and none have worked. So, I made an appointment with the doctor to speak about what to do to help with the pain and find out why it was happening, or so I thought. I went in and her answer was go on the

MRI results
Had an appointment with a lovely consultant yesterday after a MRI in Jan. Pain subsided as it has a habit of doing! Main issue is with bowels. So when asked about pain I said that was my main concern, I'm taking the minipill daily and that suppresses the pelvic pain but annoyed with myself as didn't

And I’ve been on them before, what if a person wanted the pill to stop to get pregnant would they be refused
contraception
? I’m 36 soon and I just want an opportunity to try again, I feel as I get older there is less chance of success?

Sleep issues- Is it the medication?
Hello! Every night at 7pm I give my daughter 2MG of melatonin and at 8PM she is having 0.05MG of clonidine (I am crushing it up- She can't swallow the pill even though it's cut in half) the doctor says it has nothing to do with how it is metabolizing since the medication is not extended release. She

hi Back story, I never had any issues with my periods was on the pill and always had a bleed during the 7 day break. Then around 5 years ago my periods became heavy and unpredictable. Changed pills but that didn’t work so was referred to a gynaecologist and scans revealed I had a few fibroids. I had

Questioning my need for flecainide or amiodarone
Hi. I know I have a history of AFib--I get an attack
MAYBE 3-4 times/year and it lasts for 15 minutes or so.
I had not seen any provider for it because of stupidity. BUT, when I was in hospital for an infection last November 2022, I just happened to have an AFIB episode while I was hooked up

Diagnosed Today
Today I have been diagnosed with PCOS. I have been trying to conceive for just under a year with no luck.Prior to this I was on the pill for 15 years from the age of 15 to 30. My biggest regret so far to date! I had a huge outbreak of server cystic acne on my face at 25 and didn't realise but I do now

Endometriosis for 3rd time?
I have the implant for
contraception
and she has put me on Cerazette for pain management. Previously had 2 Laps, the first (2015) was quite horrific and they had to 'unstick' my left ovary and zap away lots of adhesions. Second time (2018) just got a letter quoting 'adhesions' and no follow up.

Feeling a little lost and where to go next
So my wonderful little sister (33) offered to be our donor at Christmas which is utterly wonderful, the offer however caught me off guard as I'd thought it was something she decided against. She was due to have her contraceptive jab later that day and I naively told her to carry on as normal and have
