Also pill anxiety!

Its one thing to have anxiety then on top of it taking the medication for first time anxiety. I pace call my friend to talk me into taking and have to take an ativan to take the antidepressant! No issues taking Ativan lol. But to add to it I took cipralex 6 mths ago and horribke reaction and took them 6 weeks to figure out it was the pills. Pyschiatrist has said Trintellex shouldn’t cause a reaction but even if it did I would be aware of it this round. My anxiety hits me in the gut so I have been in gut agony 3 weeks trying to prepare for first pill so now the pill is looking good lol. How I hate this!!

oh my! We are in very similar situations!! I am absolutely SICK over taking my first antidepressant. I took them for years, then stopped about 15 years ago and had an absolutely terrible, horrific experience coming off of them. This is one of the many reasons I’m scared to start taking it again, however, my quality of life has been pitiful the last three years and I am too young to feel this way. I know I have to make a change, but I am terrified to swallow that pill for the first time for fear of possible, side effects, etc. My anxiety is so bad it’s hindering my daily life in bad ways. I don’t know what to do. I wish I could just swallow the pill.

I know I don’t have any great words of wisdom for you, but I just wanted to share my experience so that you will know you are not alone in what you are feeling. It is a scary thing and your feelings are valid. ❤️

Yes we are similar. The way I act you would think I waa taking cyanide. Last time my stomach was like this when I started an anti depressant all my stomach issues went away. I had every test they found nothing. So its clear my body is reacting to stress even when my head isnt. I loved that antu depressant mrtrazapine but its a weight gainer and makes you tired. So went off and was supposed to take Trintellex but didnt so now pretty sure I am relapsing. The cipralex/lexapro made me so sick sicker then I was so worried about this Trintellex but Doctor said its different from Ciprelex/lexapro. The plan is to try and take 5 mg toinght but thats been the plan for a week!

That has also been my plan for a week as well. I know how completely exhausting it is on top of dealing with the regular anxiety symptoms we are used to feeling. I understand how you are feeling.

Thankfully I am off work today but I’ve just been laying in bed and it’s almost noon. I’m going to make myself get up now, do some yoga and maybe I can get in the right state of mind to start this meds.

Wishing you the best 🖤 let’s check back in with each other soon!

Hi Ladytrue, I have generalized anxiety disorder and social anxiety. I have been taking klonopin, xanax, ativan, and lorazepam the last two very briefly. I've had access to these drugs for 20 years since my anxiety has been a long-term issue. I do not suffer panic attacks I have had a couple but mostly mild anxiety attacks which I am trying to control with natural exercises like breathing three minute meditation etc. I do not take benzodiazepines everyday I only take them as I feel the anxiety surging or if I anticipate and anxious situation. I know what the med dance is like! I did find relief in the first pill it is possible. Maybe open your mind to the possibility. I'm not sure I recognize the other drug you mention the cipalex, I'm completely unfamiliar with that one.

I am reluctant to say your psychiatrist sounds a little flip when he says you should know this time, regarding the trintellix.

I'm not sure what the scenario was but I would ask more questions about interactions with other medications ask more questions about side effects combined side effects to your psychiatrist as well as your pharmacist. Write down a list of questions before you even go into the doctor again. And if he doesn't respect you enough to answer your questions, I don't believe that is a good doctor but you must realize unless you're paying for a private psychiatrist you're with a psychiatrist contracted under Insurance who has a limited amount of time to spend with you. This is the insurance game.

But do what you're comfortable with.

I did take trintellix. To be fair, I didn't like the idea of taking a new kind of antidepressant that has not been out long, and did not give it much of a chance. But there were some mild side effects. I gave trintellix up.

I currently take Prozac, Xanax occasionally and a mood stabler I can't think of the name right now cuz... lamotrigine that's it! Yay, I remembered!

I'm thinking if you're overthinking taking your first pill, which I'm not clear if you actually have taken the first pill or not, but in regards to that pill I think the more you worry about it the more you're inclined to make it happen. Like what you believe or think or visualize you manifest in real life, kind of thing, I don't know just just a thought. Whether or whether or not you have taken that pill, ease your mind with some deep controlled sustained breathing exercises. There are tons of them on the internet. If you're a reader or a researcher read about the connection between the amygdala and breathing exercises and that's how they work together. I'm thinking good positive thoughts for you and I am wishing you very good day ahead! Overthinking is not healthy in any subject. That's what I have learned. And overwhelming yourself with anything leads to increased anxiety. I just figured that out after 30 plus years. how's that?

Have a great day again, plenty of sunshine and find something that will make you laugh. Take care be well

Montana 👍🌞♥️
