I had my follow up with the consultant today, after having my ultrasound in August. He said that my uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries look healthy, and that if there is endometriosis then it is ‘superficial’. He said that surgery isn’t necessary because of this. He wants me to come off the implant and start having contraceptive injections in hopes that it will stop my period. I don’t really want to do this…why should I use the injection to stop my periods instead of finding the route cause in order to stop the excruciating pain i experience??
I feel so invalidated and like my symptoms aren’t true. I don’t even know what to do, I guess I just have to deal with it. Has anyone else had to deal with this?? What do I do????

Hi. I didn’t think you can tell whether it’s endometriosis until you have laparoscopy. My ultrasound come back mostly normal except for small cyst and fibroid and I’m waiting on a laparoscopy to diagnose endometriosis because I’ve got all the symptoms.
Ask for a second opinion? You are completely entitled to do that.
Hope you get some answers. Xx
Hi I found out the best thing us to have a mri scan this showed up everything my endometriosis is very low pelvic and attached to my rectum and bowel which I do have alot of pain. See if they will give you an mri scan. You will need to be pushy on it as they do like to fob you off with let's try this drug or this coil. Hope it helps
