Estrogen vs ADT?
I've read 5 recent papers that discuss the use of estrogen as an alternative treatment to ADT (Lupron, etc.). The new data looks very favorable. A bit of history. Huggins discovered this effect around 1941-44, and he found that high doses of estrogen (estradiol) efficiently castrated men, which

Emma Alice opinions
Hello fellow IVF warriors. Apologies, I know Emma / Alice testing gets posted a lot but I would value any similar experiences. Quick back story - Miscarriage December 2022 (untested embryo, age 41) and 2 egg collections and 2 FET since both with euploid embryos. Didn’t even make it to OTD (upped

No benefit of chemo for ER+HER2- invasive lobular beyond estrogen therapy
Just found this in the digest I get of medical journal articles (MD Edge): Women with estrogen receptor (ER)–positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)–negative invasive lobular carcinoma who are treated with endocrine therapy do not derive any additional survival benefit from neoadjuvant

PSA suppression
My PSA lows tend to be around 3.3, and it occurs to me that some might think it odd that I don't drive it lower. I think it is very common for men on ADT to draw too much comfort from a significant PSA reduction, if not a near-zero PSA. I have witnessed men misinterpret a dramatic drop in PSA as

HRT Questions
I wondered if any members could recommend or suggest good bioidentical HRT products. I've been on HRT for nearly 7 years. I went into menopause very abruptly after I came off the pill. A lot of weird health issues reared their head at the same time and I admit I wasn't very well at the time. I've mentioned

HRT Question
Hello Ladies I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and wishing you all a joyous, prosperous and blessed 2024, in good health and happiness! I wanted to ask a bit of a silly question I guess, but how do I know 1. If I’m on the right kind of HRT 2. How much HRT I need 3. When I’m taking enough

Perimenopausal questions
Hello, over the summer I tested my hormones during my luteal phase. I also have an underactive thyroid too which I know can cause low progesterone. A bit about my symptoms: I have low moods, tiredness, vaginal dryness, no libido, a three week cycle, heavy periods. My GP has prescribed me a estrogen based

Heading for transfer no.6 - protocol modifications
So today I had my follow up appt after 5th failed transfer. Was hoping mr Dr would suggest something new and boy has he done that! 😊😊 5th transfer I had HCG wash before transfer but no other additional tests/treatments. This time I’m having clexane injections, prednisolone, oestrogen patches instead

After help for a friend, only able to do natural transfers due to migraine?
You all helped me so much when I was on my fertility journey I was hoping you had some information to help my friend. When she was on a contraceptive pill she had to be on progesterone only as she'd previously had a migraine (only 1 or 2 in her lifetime). A couple of months ago she had an EC and transfer

Thyroid results
Hi. I have been struggling with chronic fatigue and joint pain for almost 12 months. I have had Thyroid tested and all normal according to GP. I'm in surgical menopause and taking Testosterone, Oestrogen and Progesterone and all my levels are good for those so I'm wondering if it could be thyroid related

Hypo book recommendations please UK
Hi, please can someone recommend a book to start to understand likely hypothyroidism? A UK publication please. I joined yesterday and am just trying to get my head around it all. I have lots of symptoms and my TSH is creeping up with TS4 and especially TS3 scratching the bottom of the normal range

Don't want to go back on the pill/more surgeries! Deep infiltrating endo on bowel and uterine polyp removed recently for heavy bleeding.
Hello fellow endo warriors. I have a dilemma. I really don't want to go back on the bcp after being on it for 15 years as it has not been effective for my deep infiltrating endo on my bowel. My ultimate goal is to heal endo at the core using non-hormonal & surgery approach. Not just a bandaid solution

New results. I'd be grateful for some input!
So, after 3 years of testing every 8 weeks or so, I still don't trust my interpretation. 😂 Latest results on 150mcg T4 and 30mcg T3 are: TSH: 0.01 T4: 18.5 (12 - 22) 65% T3: 5.4 (3.1 - 6.8) 62% Previous results on 125mcg levo and 30mcg T3 were: TSH: 0.01 T4: 17.8 (12 - 22) 58% T3: 5.1 (3.1 - 6.8)
