Anyone about to start a frozen transfer?

Hi all, hope everyone is doing ok. Just wondered if anyone else is about to embark on a frozen cycle? I start taking Oestrogen on Sunday / Monday - feels quite nerve wracking going again after a failed fresh cycle in November. But I’m thankful the meds look less intrusive this time round, and that the time frame is shorter! x

I'm doing a down regulation protocol this time so got an injection today and I've to phone on day 1 of my period (which will arrive in 8 days or so), then il start on Progynova for 2 weeks, this is my last embryo (poor quality) of my first egg collection, first ended in MC at 5.5 weeks and second chemical pregnancy so to be honest I have zero expectation or even hope left that it will work, I just want to get on with it and do my next egg collection in the hope the positive changes to my diet make a difference 🙈 my FET will likely be mid march xx

Got my fingers crossed for you Xmishell37 - you never know which is the one that might stick, so really hope it’s this one! Best of luck with your meds too. Keep occupied and let’s hope the next few weeks of meds fly by! Xx

Good luck! My experience is that the FET cycles are much less demanding and invasive so hopefully you find that too. There can be some side effects but it affects everyone differently. I have a frozen transfer next week 😬

Thanks WillowPark , I picked up the smallest pack of tablets yesterday and was gobsmacked 😂 so much less medication than the fresh round! Hope your side affects are minimal, and let us know how you get on with the transfer, rooting for you and hope this one is the one for you! xx

It is such a build up to starting and then you are like "OK, so when my period starts I just start taking these tiny tablets and see you in a week and a half? OK, I can do that." You almost worry you aren't doing it properly as there is no stress 🤣 My side effects have been minimal this time - the usual mild nausea for an hour or so after taking the meds and starting to feel tired and bloated now, two weeks in. I'm just about to start adding the progesterone so we will see if that triggers migraines again. Hopefully not! Yes same for you - fingers crossed all round🤞

So true 😂 Have you been through a frozen round before? I’m just trying to make sense of timings a bit. If you have, do you usually start taking the progesterone a few days before the transfer? On my clinic calendar they haven’t marked on the transfer date, as presume it’s because they will only confirm it after the scan I have. But just trying to gauge tbc few days, so I can manage work meetings etc. xx

Yes this is my fifth round so l have done a fresh and three frozen. That's right - I start progynova on day 1 of my period, scan around day 10-12. If all OK on the scan they will give a date for transfer and for starting progesterone. It is typically five days of progesterone pessaries before transfer. I then take more progesterone injections from transfer day. There are variations of course but that seems to be quite standard. So I started estrogen on 4 February, had my scan on Thursday 15th, starting progesterone pessaries today and transfer next Thursday. My transfer could have been any day next week though, just depends on clinic availability. Hope that helps you plan, but you won't know for sure until your scan!

WillowPark that’s so so helpful thank you! Just means I can block out a more specific few days in my work calendar to make sure I’m working from home / have less meetings 😊 good luck with the delightful pessaries and sending you all the 🤞🤞🤞 xx

Hello! I’m new here - first time writing anything. I am about to have my first FET next week. Last chance on NHS sadly. I had two egg collections a 1st round only 1 low quality embryo, 2nd collection I had 2 mid quality embryos. So all hopes pinned on this little guy!

The medication sounded a lot easier this time but I started progesterone yesterday on top of the 4 progynova a day. Whereas last two cycles I’ve just had to take two cyclogest a day, I now have an added Lubion injection (due to bleeding 4 days after both transfers). These three have to be spaced out 8 hours apart. I found the injection last night very painful. And is still tender this morning. This is something I’ll have to continue should we get a BFP. So I’m feeling a little down this morning about how many more alarms I need to set to remember to take everything! Side effects so far have been feeling light headed, a little nauseous, and just very very tired!

I’m sure it’s different for everyone but I just feel the FET is a little more complicated. Fingers crossed it’ll all be worth it. And fingers crossed for everyone ❤️

The lubion injections can be sore. Someone suggested icing the area before the injection but I haven't tried that yet. Might be worth a go!

Thank you! I’ll give that a go. I tried icing after which helped momentarily, but I’ll give it a go before tonight.

For lubion injections I definitely recommend holding an ice cube to the area you are about to inject and after firmly pressing a ball of cotton wool on the injection site. I found doing this stopped me getting bruises.

Hey ASteel85 , hope you’re doing ok and hold on in there. I know what you been by it feeling complicated, I’m yet to work out all the alarms I need to set for starting the tablets alone tomorrow and beyond. I’m worried tablets too feel easier to forget! Really hope side affects stay at bay and you get the result this time xx

It is also worth considering when works best for you to take the meds before your transfer. I spoke with the consultant after my first fet as I was struggling with timing. I now take my lubion, cyclogest and progynova all together in the morning. Then I just have one progynova in the afternoon/lunchtime (it isn't so sensitive when you take that and easy to pop wherever you are) and then all drugs together again in the evening. It works really well for me to work around the progesterone timings (for me they are every 12 hours) and to do most of the meds together in the morning when I have a more fixed routine. Worth asking what you can do if you are struggling with all the different timings.

Hiya, this is my 5th transfer, 3rd FET, embryo #6 (the last 2 transfers were DE and this one will be too). My transfer is 1st March so I started progynova, aspirin and prednisolone this week. I find the FETs much easier, however I hate the bloating, cramps and constant feeling my period will materialise at any second. Good luck! ❤️

Hi I'm starting my first FET, going for the medicated option as I haven't had a positive ovulation test in the last 3 months. Just waiting till day 19 of my cycle to start meds on day 5 right now.

best of luck Hidden . How is the 2WW treating you? Is this your first double transfer? I had the option this time from the doctor to go for a double, but decided to just do a single for now. I’m feeling hopeful at the moment, but as the next few weeks unfold I’m sure there will be some ups and downs. Going to keep myself nice and busy! Xx

in reply toMiniCeeCee

Well I’ve got a positive test today so hoping for the best for you too xx keep me update

Its a very dark line for only 10 dpo on a very weak cheap test so im thinking both have stuck 😍😍😍😍

Thanks xx I think I’ve private messaged you 😂 I honestly have no idea what I’m doing on here.

what stage are you at?

When is your test date?

MiniCeeCee profile image
MiniCeeCee in reply to

I’ve just started Oestrogen tablets (on second day of taking them). So 12 days of these, then a scan, then start on progesterone a few days later. Tbc transfer date but likely to be around 7/8th March, with test date of 18th March 🤞🤞

Aww not long to wait then! Fingers crossed for you xxx
